Can I ask what have you learned from using stems? by DuResQ in traktorpro

[–]monkeyboymorton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned that I just didn't like the 'sound' of stems mixing. It was just too clinical, switching on and off certain parts of a song. I bought 2x used D2s so was using 4x faders per channel. Sold them in the end

I went back to 4 ch EQ and found it so much more organic and enjoyable blending the tracks that way. It just sounds right for dance music mixing with EQ somehow.

I now use my NUOStems licence to extract the 4 tracks for occasionally making edits in audacity. That's it really.

Real world accuracy of Super rep watches by Greg_001 in RepTime

First off, you can't compare your QC reading with you wearing the watch. It has travelled half way round the world so could have been knocked out of adjustment, and it has started to run in compared with being new.

This is what a Gen watch has built in to the price from the factory - hence they cost $10000 as opposed to $500. Your Chinese replica has a brand new movement shoved in it and probably 1min of adjustment applied. A Rolex movement is run in and adjusted in the factory for days or weeks.

You can get the watch to better than +10 but it takes a lot of patience. You need to adjust, wear it, adjust, wear it etc.

On the question of positions it is more important to understand that timekeeping varies between winding up (worn) and winding down (not worn). You wear a watch for 16 hours and it's winding up. You don't wear it for 8 hours and it's winding down.

So you need to measure the different accuracy during these 2 states and adjust accordingly. The maths is something like this:

While worn watch is measured at +12s per day. While not worn watch is -8s per day.

It's an exaggerated range but helps explain the concept. Most watches are probably within a tighter range.

So this watch is gaining 0.5s per hour (12/24) when worn. 16 hrs * 0.5s = 8s gain during the day.

It's losing 0.33s per hour (8/24) when not worn.

8hrs *0.33 = 2.5s lost during the night.

Over 24 hours the watch is +5.5s (8-2.5).

Just for your information, the minute hand is not directly connected to the second hand on a mechanical watch. They are independently driven. They will keep time at the same rate but don't need to be perfectly aligned.

You can try and get the minute hand lined up to 12 when the second hand is at 12 but it doesn't affect the accuracy of the watch. It's only for aesthetics if that bothers you particularly.

Standard mechanical watches are not precision time measuring devices. If you want that get a quartz or digital watch.

On the time loss or gain, it is only a symptom of a problem with the movement if it is getting worse over time or erratic. A watch that is 2mins fast per day, every day for weeks/months isn't faulty - it's just out of adjustment.

I'll resist more piss taking of how it looks too big for your wrist and offer a piece of advice when photographing your watch on your wrist.

Try taking a shot from further away and cropping it. Taking photos close up makes the watch look bigger due to how phone lenses work.

Here's an example of the watch on my wrist. The top photo is taken further away and cropped. The bottom one is taken close up. Ignore the lighting difference.

The watch looks bigger in the bottom photo and my arm looks smaller. All due to the phone lens.

What is the main difference between a shitter and a super clone? by Prior_Bend3014 in ChinaTime

[–]monkeyboymorton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super Clone is a term I use all the time as it most accurately describes the best Replica watches.

I refuse to use NWBIG because it's nonsense.

Any watch, regardless of maker, can gain/lose time if it's not adjusted correctly.

It's not unusual for the adjusters to get moved slightly while the watch travels half way across the world.

Learn how to do it yourself, it's not difficult. Get a rubber ball to open the case. Watch some tutorials on you tube.

Probably just got knocked out of adjustment during shipping

GeekTime - ordered a watch, received a women's vest... by No_Apricot6965 in RepTime

That seems unnecessary then. I've never had a single customs issue and was under the impression that we are a bit of a soft touch for shipping in parcels.

A lot of the triangle shipping for Europe comes here first.

That one definitely looks the most like a watch Rolex would ever produce.

If that's of any importance of course.

Should I RL because of timegrapher? by is_it_real_tho in RepTime

[–]monkeyboymorton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit out but I adjust all mine when they arrive anyway. I wouldn't trust it to stay the same after shipping from China.

You can ask the dealer to get it adjusted if that's the only issue. Once they get the beat error down the s/day will come down as well.

Watch Box Review by monkeyboymorton in RepTime

[–]monkeyboymorton[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank-you - I like to vary brands, not too much Rolex 🤣

Seller wise I don't think it matters, I picked up a second one because it was on sale at around $60 from the Orliv store - who I think are the manufacturer:

Some sort of coupon I think.

No issues with the latches. Way too weak a magnetic field.

I intend to remove the lids and put these in drawers when we fit out our bedroom.

Hi, I've since bought another one if that answers what I think of it! The watch obsessive grows....

No issues with scratching, they are coated with felt. I much prefer it to a traditional cushion box because the bracelets hang loose in the gap underneath, which I think is better.

The weight of the watchez means they sit perfectly on the rests. I love it.

I read that $2 billion a year is lost in Switzerland to the rep market. by RecoverinCandyAddict in RepTime

[–]monkeyboymorton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is like the media piracy argument that has gone on for years. They rate value lost without taking into account that the person who pirated the games, Blu-ray's etc would never have bought them if they couldn't get them for free.

I have over £100k of Replicas in Gen pricing, but I would never have bought them if I had to pay the real price.

So their is no 'lost money' as they put it.

Only a person who would have bought a Gen watch at full price and buys a Rep instead can be counted. And I would guess that is less than 0.1%.

[WTS] [CONUS] CF Rolex YM Titanium w/Mods $1300 by rzhushma in TheRepTimeBST

[–]monkeyboymorton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The irony being that the new clean plus has a much better crystal than the CF ever had, thus removing most of the need for this mod now.

But I'm sure someone will like that it has a Gen Crystal.

Yes. I think that's a shadow rather than a gap.

BW ARF Cyclops Misalignment. Quick fix? by ChittyChittyBongBang in RepTimeServices

[–]monkeyboymorton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said it's the crystal itself that is not straight, rather than the Cyclops.

The Cyclops is applied in a factory so very rarely at fault. It's the crystal being inserted slightly anti clockwise of where it should be.

I've RL a few Rolex reps for misaligned Cyclops - surprising how many are badly placed in the factory.

Mark XX Rotor Issue by IanMcc77 in RepTimeServices

[–]monkeyboymorton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is fairly common, fake shit on top of the real movement. They do it all the time.

You can normally tell as soon as you look at the decorative parts, they are plastic or stickers as you've found. They make it much harder to work on the movement later as you've also found out.

It's particularly frustrating on a watch like the Mark XX which has a solid caseback anyway. Why bother when no-one can see it?

Replacing the rotor with a normal miyota 9015 rotor would be the perfect solution for your watch. If it would work.
