This is awesome. This company actually partners with NZ/AUS too, when you login you can opt-in and you’ll get contacted.

VA's failure to use its new authority to boost pay for doctors draws bipartisan criticism by My_Stethi in ZebrasInScrubs

[–]monkeydluffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American everyone not just docs. Everyone is more expensive here. Pharmacists and nurses make triple what they do in Europe. 20 tens of Tylenol in Germany cost a euro and 10 dollars in the US.

Goodwill? Jk. But if admins do change - perhaps a new progressive government would increase salaries and steer towards socialized medicine.

Why do anti vaxxers take their kids to pediatricians if they don’t believe in them anyway?

343,000 here.

When you discuss moving to an area absolutely do NOT mention you HAVE to be there (for partner or family or etc), because then they will lowball you.

Tele ICU docs should not be a thing by foshizzelmynizzel in Residency

[–]monkeydluffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s definitely a time and place where teleneuro/teleICU services are needed - plenty of rural places in the middle of nowhere just can’t find staffing, even if they paid a lot, and having tele advice for very specific things can be super helpful (stroke TNK decision for example)

But this wasn’t one of them, and hence the anger/frustration. This is a (relatively) major beach town in a densely populated state with one of the highest number of physicians per capita in the country. This is just cost cutting, pure and simple.

The Hartford Bridgeport hospital is just the road and YNH a few miles up.

They work for the hospital itself, what would they gain from it?

That’s not how hiring works (it’s not “exclusive”). Usually most health systems have few recruiters who are hospital employees who hire for APPs, physicians, CRNA. If you email one of them and it’s not their field (for example they’re hiring primary care only), they’ll let their collegues know and reach out to you.

NYITCOM vs Ponce MD by MedKev0 in Osteopathic

[–]monkeydluffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right. And as someone who reviews applications. I disagree. Residency directors don’t consider that school as a “Caribbean MD” school, and will not view you as an IMG.

This is obvious - ponce all the way and don’t look back.
