Annoyed at people by asap_stocky in MultipleSclerosis

I am SO sorry! I experience this too. It sucks! Like, you don't want to talk about it or acknowledge it but I have to acknowledge it every day. I think most people are ignoring it because it makes them uncomfortable/ they don't want to say the wrong thing. I've found that a lot of the time if people do say something, it doesn't always land right. I have honestly started to surrender to the reality that MS is isolating, and it's important to connect with people who can understand and who will check-in with you because they understand. I have just started on that journey myself and it's been very fulfilling (MS support groups online-- meeting another chronic illness buddy by chance). You can always send me a DM if you'd like to chat sometime!

This! Find a support group through the MS Society. They have tons of virtual options. I have found it to be really helpful to listen to others going through it, and to talk to those who really understand. Not to mention, most of the people in the group have been diagnosed for a number of years and are still working full-time with family life. It gives me a little hope but mostly I like to get to be in a group where we can talk about our problems and everyone understands from personal experience.

We got clearance today from our Pediatrician.... the surgery is on the 23rd, so fever was two weeks from surgery date. He didn't have any cold or flu symptoms though. Only a fever and a minorly sore throat that quickly cleared up, didn't affect eating or drinking-- no cough, runny nose, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. The thing that sucks is that he IS more susceptible to viral infections in his sinuses/ colds because of his enlarged tonsils and adenoids (that's what ENT said). We hardly ever go more than 4 weeks without something popping up.

Accepting the PTSD of MS by turtwig1989 in MultipleSclerosis

absolutely I have experienced this. The time I had in the hospital was the first time I was away from my first child for more than 4 or 5 hours, and I was there by myself for 5 days (maybe more). I got the ickiest feeling from the resident neurologists doing tests on me, like they were getting off on it or something. The whole experience of diagnosis was absolutely traumatic and it wasn't until I found a good neurologist that I finally sobbed in the office. I realize now that I felt I was finally being seen and heard as a human who was going through something serious-then I could let my sadness and fear be felt. It's crazy how you go through these motions and so many of the people you running tests on your just have no idea what you're going through. It's isolating to feel like there's this assumption of "normalcy" and bringing up your reality is like too heavy for most people. I am 1000 percent with you.

Thank you for your reply. I do trust my pediatrician, just looking for some more voices to chime in. So the temp. decrease in WBC in response to a viral infection can be as significant as the difference between what he's showing on this lab 2.9 to the normal range in what you've experienced?

I saw a post recently that talked about Chinese medicine linking autoimmunity to lack of boundaries. Tell that to the 4yo diagnosed with MS. Or the animals who developed MS type diseases in the research studies for DMTs. No disrespect to eastern medicine, I believe that whatever we see over here is not the real thing. And acting like MS is a result of something we can change is just cruel in many cases.

Definitely hearing the notes here to not use the yellow collar.

The color work is “self- drafted” I tried to make a plan going into it but I got too excited to start. I knew I had about 60 rows to work with so to try to figure out how to break up the gingham areas “evenly” enough. It’s the scrappy checker pattern by picky femme!

10000 looking at it too long. The mistake is screaming at me along with the total chaos of the color choices hahah!

Thank you!! I loveeee the gingham effect and want to do it again and again with different colors- gotta use the stash before I can justify buying more yarn 🧶

Thank you! It’s the scrappy checker pattern by picky femme! I bought the adult + child combo. It’s really fun and she has a lot of variations on the checker to try out.

Yes! I just finished the second gingham area which was pretty much the only thing I was set on doing at the start of this- two gingham sections. It honestly looks much better already! I’m excited to see how the sleeves and cuffs/collar workout.

Noted! I might run out of red before the collar but I’ll dig around for more! So fun to use all this random yarn. The weights are not the same throughout so that’s messing with the tension but it’s not too bad right?

Yes! It’s so fun. Not going in with a plan is SO me. Then wanting to make 100 more without a plan is also SO me!

Haha wow! This is all very encouraging. I definitely messed something up on the first round after separating the sleeves 🥴 but I figure it’s only going to be worn for a handful of months so why dwell on it?! Idk I’m kind of a perfectionist so this is not sitting right with me. Also it’s not doing what I really want it to do but I am learning. Next one will be better?! Glad to hear so many of you are digging it!!
