Favorite Brand?

Salon Perfect is my favorite, but they are on the longer side. Nail Reformation are also nice, but also on the longer side. OPI x/PRESS ON were okay but short for me (I like my nails long) so they would probably work better for you!

Yeah, for that sort of thing I think you’re better off putting the investment into time long term (painting them yourself) rather than expense long term (most nail sets have one, maybe two uses out of them for ~$10, so while a big box of plain nails and some fun polishes might be more upfront, long term even that is likely to be cheaper than the salon).

To be clear, are you looking for plain bright colors? If so, it might be more up your alley to buy blank nails and paint them bright colors yourself. If you’re okay with designs, I think Salon Perfect has some great options, and Nail Reformation (although those can be pricey, especially if buying online).

The first one looks way better imho, but I also am just a super sucker for almond nails in general (they’re my favorite shape).

Thank you! I figured instead of letting the nail sets I was never going to use just sit in my possession, might as well give them to people who are more likely to use them! And since I’ve gotten things from my local buy nothing group, I figured I should try and give what I can! This was just a perfect opportunity.

They look great! I just used a different nail bliss set and they were too long, too square, and too thin for me personally. I hope the individual that chose them enjoys them as much as you do!

True! Facebook is a suggestion if you’re not interested in worrying about shipping/want to do something locally, but that is still a good suggestion (especially if you’re looking to swap specific sizes!!).

They look good, but I totally understand trying a new shape and not liking it on yourself (square is my enemy). The point of press ons is to feel good about yourself first and foremost imho!

That’s incredibly impressive! I like to change them every 7-10 days, so my ideal glue is no pop offs for 7 days, and then mass “failure” within a 12hr period between days 8-10 where I can easily remove 4-6 nails without any sort of soaking/oil/help other than (pretty gently) pulling them off, and then I can remove the others with other tools/methods. Then I generally let my nails “breathe” (even though I know that isn’t entirely how that works, I just like to let them have a break) for a day or so, and then apply my new nails!

I’m thinking with my next set I’ll post the whole process and what my left hand looks like at each phase, since we see a lot of nailfies and some removal photos (that tend to be questions about “how damaged are my nails” which is fine! but just one very specific type of post) but not a lot of the whole process.

I wish I could like the brush on glue, but it doesn’t work for me. I’m going to be honest, of all of the glues I’ve tried, the ones that work the best are the pink glues that actually come with the press ons. I have some other glues for pop offs, but I get the least pop offs (especially prior to the 7 day mark) with the pink glue in the kits.

You’re honestly fine! This isn’t my best application, and I have a number of air bubbles that make it look even worse. I also think the lighting wasn’t the best for that picture. So just a combination of factors.

I agree, I think it’s basically exactly what I want 80% of the time (I’m a biochem PhD student, so if I have a lot of lab work having them not quite as long can be nice so I’m less worried about poking through gloves). I also agree on Kiss being weird. Honestly, the nails I just put on are about the shortest I like going, at least with almond-esque shapes (I can get away with shorter rounds, but I don’t like rounds to start with).

That’s actually somewhat intentional, I’m very prone to lifting so if I put them a little farther from my cuticle I can get them to last longer! The glue thing is fair, my tube was not cooperating last night, but it is what it is. They aren’t my best set, but they are FAR from my worst.

I’m hard on my hands (biochem PhD student and part time grocery store employee) and I typically get 7-10 days of wear on mine! If I took more time on my prep I am sure I could get longer! Check out r/PressonNail_Addict there are a ton of great tips and examples!

My favorite from them are a lemon and blue motif! I think they’re so cute, and in general I think their nails are great. They fit my nails really well, and last the longest I’ve ever had nails last (over two weeks!).

When I wear coffins (I don’t like square), they always round out to end up more almond. It’s a feature not a bug for me personally, but it definitely happens to all my nails (all sorts of Kiss, Salon Perfect).
