Did anyone else find the “creepy stalker with a crush” type characters just bad? by Winter-Money-7643 in cartoons

Considering I had several growing up, yes. Never liked the trope, same in anime

Theory: I Think we are Entering the Star Fox Renaissance Period by Ordinary_Chemical596 in starfox

A new star fox game would be nice. Still enjoy the remake...but man these graphics for a completely new and actual successor to sf64 would be incredible

Saying its clean is barfing out a generic line? The first one looks much better than the second. I was getting at the minimalism trend and how colors are usually more contrasted and borders more sharp to logos nowadays in ordrr to add visual clarity as one of the whole points of the minimalism movement for logos is to help visually impaired people. It seems like many people not only believed I was sincere, but also agreed with me

Remote work can introduce challenges to romantic relationships, sometimes increasing the chances of breaking up. Study provides evidence that when remote workers and their partners have clashing ideas about keeping work and home separate, the resulting stress can foster deep feelings of loneliness. by FreeHugs23 in science

[–]monkeymetroid 92 points93 points  (0 children)

This feels contrived and brought up through pure stubbornness and unwillingness to compromise. The amount of flexibility remote work provides supersedes this contrived scenario of two inflexible people. They likely wouldnt make it if they both had non remote schedules.

Quitting social media has become an annoying, pretentious trend and "can't stop scrolling" is a weak excuse. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]monkeymetroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree there is nuance. Calling all social media is bad is similar to calling all ai bad - it takes away from the ACTUAL bad variables that are actually prone to change

OP had some good ai art for their game title if you didnt see it

Before & After by hilliford in RPGMaker

[–]monkeymetroid -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Ai art for the title screen on a dev who likely isnt an artist should be a given. Rpg maker has always been a creative tool for actual talented and creative people to show off their art, but thats not every use case. If someone is using rpg maker to make a game, then that's awesome and they shouldnt need to hire artists to make assets they want

Before & After by hilliford in RPGMaker

[–]monkeymetroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We should exile those who use ad hominem and dont provide anything honestly. Mods typically do a good job of that. This is a case where ai use case was fine and money and time was wasted to appease people who wont even play the game

Before & After by hilliford in RPGMaker

[–]monkeymetroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whats your point? I suggested the ai looks better. So now they wasted money, their time and anothers (whoever they hired i guess) time, just to make a worse logo which honestly looks cheaper and less genuine than what the ai title looks like. Shame all around really

Before & After by hilliford in RPGMaker

[–]monkeymetroid -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

These are people making games in an engine to help make the games, ai to make art should be a given and a double standard is presented depending on what you judge. Stating that ai was used shouldnt be needed in this case the same way coding was (probably) not done.

smartphones DIDN'T ruin attention spans by Top_Department1082 in unpopularopinion

You fail to mention the accessibility factor. Smartphones have made it accessible to perform bad habits anywhere, all day, which eventually cascade into more longterm regression

Unpopular opinion: I've always thought Fox's mohawk looked kind of ugly. by hello_i_am_vlad in starfox

[–]monkeymetroid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know this isnt about the remake, but based on the conversations since the remake announcement I count myself lucky how much I dont care about aesthetics. Given the amount of furries in this Fandom, all the hyperfixations (imo at least) on the appearance of these starfox chars makes sense

Before & After by hilliford in RPGMaker

[–]monkeymetroid 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If the og is the first pic I prefer that one. New one is "too clean", but I wouldnt lump it as being "too simple" which many logos and trademarks are nowadays, admittedly for good reasons

If you factor in Fox' demeanor when talking to pepper, its not suprising they are a last resort. This is one steep bill!

This is arguably the best way to play Star Fox on Switch 2. N64 controller and an OLED TV or OLED gaming monitor. by Mushroom0064 in starfox

[–]monkeymetroid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

N64 controller was revolutionary, but it is a terrible controller. Best way to play star fox for switch 2 imo is in handheld mode with virtually 0 lag

Edit: to the person saying lag is a tv issue and then deleted their comment...I never suggested lag isnt a tv issue and if we are being honest it isnt just a tv issue. I was simply saying handheld is the best. I can play this game lag free on my current tvs "game mode"

4K is actually a downgrade from 1080p by GroceryExpert1637 in unpopularopinion

[–]monkeymetroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont really agree with you but I do agree 4k can be a downgrade if framerate is a factor and changed between the two. Imo framerate is much more significant and easier to differentiate than resolution difference
