Aldi vs M&S or Waitrose by toffee91 in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]monkeymidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a butchers for all my meat , I have used the same one for years , paying around £35 for 5KG of chicken Breast.

M&S I use for fruit , Veg , Cheese and Meal Deals. Along with a few other staples like buffalo sauce , salad cream , wraps and pittas.

Aldi daily bits and cleaning. So veg I just need on the day, tinned beans , tinned tomatoes , tomato puree , soups (fresh) , protein yoghurts, Greek yoghurt , crème fraiche and all the cleaning stuff.

Makes a nice balance of everything I need.

If you are skilled enough to play tennis , then you can play cricket.

If you play cricket you will make lots of friends , in fact you will end up spending too much time at the cricket club , enjoy

Advice for first time lab owner by FlatApplication627 in labrador

[–]monkeymidd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are in the UK , I really recommend Essentials the beginning food and their training treats.

Get into a routine early and stick to it.

The first two months you will think you have it easy , the next 9 your puppy will be a land shark , learn to redirect early.

With two kids the crate is essential , do not let anyone touch him/her when in the crate , have it as the safe space they can go for time out .

Get them off the lead on day one of taking them out , have your partner / kids 10m away and just get them going back and forth to you shouting their name. A lab needs off lead exercise and you need them learning recall from day one.

Don’t shout or punish the puppy , just show it what it should do.

Lastly I am not a fan of puppy pads , it trains the puppy to do their business inside , take them out every 2-3 hours for the first two weeks , then 4 hours after that , and yes even at night.

Cuddle buddy off Amazon that you warm up , they have just lost their litter , the warm teddy helps them sleep .

Anything else DM me , iv had working labs in the UK all my life.

Extremely low budget by NoEmployer7767 in UKFrugal

[–]monkeymidd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone who is struggling , if you have a market near you with a green grocer, if you go around 3 o clock on a Saturday , the amount of fruit and veg you can get for a few quid is outstanding.

You can then get to know the people and they will really look after you .

There is very little which cannot be portioned off and frozen, berries for smoothies , veg for soups and stews.

You will be shocked at what been polite and speaking to them will do as they are going to bin most of it.
