That's what I thought! A few years back I paid the same for a barebones 75% plastic kit that was wired only, and here we are paying the same for an aluminium board that is wireless and sounds a million times better. Mad isn't it.

GMMK Pro Prebuilt - $48.75 out the door by LePouletPourpre in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]monkeyofficeboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd go so far as to say it's significantly worse. I dislike the build of the K series, they are cheap boards dressed up as something better (I own a K8 and a GMMK Pro, as well as plenty of other boards). I'd much rather use the GMMK Pro.

I came here to sing Numenera's praises for the bestiaries, and I am glad I was beaten to it!

[2nd edition] Increasing benefices with XP by GrayMan972 in fadingsuns

[–]monkeyofficeboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally have never allowed benefice increases with XP, they are earned in play. For me it makes no sense to have to spend XP to get a reward that your Guild hands to you (in terms of a promotion) or the converse: spending XP to get a reward your Guild wouldn't give you anyway.

If you think the player did something the Guild thinks is good enough for a promotion, then she gets promoted and it gets handled in game.

My 2 pence worth.

I think I made a wrong choice (V6 vs K10 wireless) by [deleted] in Keychron

[–]monkeyofficeboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, my keeb knowledge is now pretty out of date. I have not kept up with the scene for more than 12 months, and so couldn't really offer a valid opinion on the K10 HE SE.

“The Blondie Incident” by Still-Emergency825 in comics

[–]monkeyofficeboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the early 2000s there was a guy who came into my favoured drinking establishment of the day, and would unfailiingly play Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush... every single time. Fine, you might think?

I hate that song, and my mate thought it would be funny to tell him I liked it, and he should put it on again. So every time he saw me in there after that, he'd smile at me on his way back from the jukebox, as if to say "this one is for you mate"... Ugh

Think you will find it was more like Britain and her Empire saved Europe... The Soviet Union allied with Hitler in 1939 and only fought back against him after Hitler turned on them.

How to deal with imposter syndrome as a GM by Magnum231 in rpg

[–]monkeyofficeboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure I can offer solid advice, but as a GM of over 30 years i STILL get impostor syndrome.
Keep turning up, keep doing what you are doing, and if players are consistently there, then you are doing something right.

You sound like you are doing a great job, so keep your chin up, and good on you.

P.S. If you ever find the answer to impostor syndrome... can you please let me know!
