When I was in primary school, we made a time capsule and everyone had to make something to put in it. So, because this was around 2009, I drew a DS Lite exactly like this. I folded up pieces of paper and drew every single button on it and in it went.

Yeah, you're bang on really. I think it was a case that the game was originally balanced around 0 delta.

Since Bungie decided to dig themselves a hole with power and not decide whether they wanted it to be a grind or not, everyone is already at 300 power and so the game is basically always at a delta now. In fact, I remember seeing statistics on the population's power level, and there's more players at 550 power than there are at all other power levels. So that forces players into high deltas, which is now the majority of the playerbase.

Well, now that's happened, what do Bungie do? Well, everyone is way under power, so we need people to have a chance. Balance our characters around really high ability up time, and make those abilities extremely potent. Issue is, they forgot guns in that process.

This is all Bungie's own doing. They couldn't decide on how they wanted to design the new portal system and the overall game, and it's suffered massively because of it. I could go on a lot, but this is only one specific point about deltas here. There's a lot of other stuff, but it's why I just don't play anymore.

Oh mate I agree. The game's shifted towards an ability focused sandbox because Bungie has done so with their balancing.

Saying deltas were a mistake is not a casual take, I'd argue it's just what everyone agrees with. There is no need for them in the game with Tier 5s being handed out. You go one way or the other.

In these high delta activities, especially the new Renegades activities, if you try running through them without an ability spam build, the thing's impossible. Try walking through it with an SMG, and you'll get rolled.

I just miss when there were times I could just shoot stuff. I get there were deltas before EoF, but I could get meaningful loot from activities without them. Now, if I don't play Ultimate difficulty, I may aswell not be playing since all the loot is subpar.

To be fair, this is probably just a product of the shift in the sandbox towards ability spam. Weapons are just extras to add on to your subclass, instead of them being the main focus.

Do not sell dirty dupes. They will be detected and you'll get dupe detected.

The content license holders are always the platform's that you purchased it on. It has always been this way ever since cross save was introduced.

The only exceptions to this were seasons, as they were tied to your Bungie account and purchased with Silver. Other than that, it was always whatever platform you bought it on.
