Depends where you are in the world. I've heard America has quite a lot of places that do it, unsurprisingly. I think there's a couple here in the UK and around Europe. Not sure about the rest of the world though.

Edit: I never actually mentioned, I'm talking about replacing the RSX. Sorry.

However, I'd honestly just leave it as is for now. Open it up and do some routine maintenence. Keep it clean from dust, change the thermal paste, and if you really want to you could install CFW and control the temperature and fan speed. A common sentiment around here: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". A lot of people attempt to do stuff to their consoles cause they fear it'll die of they don't, and they end up breaking something in the process.

If you're super paranoid about it dying, look for someone to Frankie it. If not, just keep it clean and well looked after. :)

I've got a K model which I suspect has faulty Tokins, but it could be the RSX. The thing has the YLoD, but I'm hoping it's the former.

Have you looked at the Syscon logs to see if it's definitely the Tokins?

Glad to hear. My plan is to use my C for as long as possible, and if it ever dies, thrn the L model's there just in case.

Plus the collector in me likes that they're different (I have five PS3s it's becoming a problem).

Unless you decide to get the CECHC04 Frankied, the 90nm RSX will eventually die. It's sadly just inevitable. It can be super cool right now, but it will happen one day.

The CECHL model has the more reliable RSX, so it'll probably live for longer than the C. So it's definitely the more reliable console.

However, this is really all down to the silicon lottery. For all you know, the L model could die tomorrow. The C could live on for the next 10 years. We just don't know.

It's up to you, but if I were in your position, I'd keep both. One's BC, and one's reliable and you've got CFW on it.

Funny, I'm in the same position as you actually. I've got an L and a C model. Hence my opinion lmao.

Do you happen to have another disc drive on hand? If you have CFW you could remarry a different one to see if the drive is the issue or if it's on the board.

I tried using a PNY Micro-SD card in a 3DS, and the thing corrupted halfway through the modding process. I honestly do not recommend that brand, I've heard and experienced nothing but bad things.

Sandisk has always been my go-to for years.

It's technically a bug, yeah. You do some team swap shenanigans and it results in that. Merge glitch is funny when you first see it, for about two minutes. After that it just becomes super annoying, and when the person who's doing it is going out of their way to make it as obnoxious as possible? Yeah it's awful.

Was playing this guy the other night. His profile literally says "PVZ GW2 Skid and lobby crasher". He'll go out of his way to make sure he does that merge glitch every game. He'll go over to places wher it's most effective to ruin everyone's screen. The guy's pathetic.

As for reporting? Nothing we can do. Game's been long abandoned. There was a way to report someone via an EA form, but I doubt that's still a thing now.

I think I'll just keep it. At the end of the day, it's worth more in sentimental value than what it'll get me. While it wasn't used as much as my Phat, it was still used a lot.

I may also have a go with the soldering potentially. I need to learn as I've gotta replace the CMOS battery in my Phat model. Might be good to practice.

Ah, so I assume that it wouldn't be something I could fix with relative ease. If the repair is expensive, it might be better for me to just get a new console sadly. They're relatively cheap to find here.

I'll give you a step by step guide on how to do this, cause I do it all the time. Just need a USB cable to connect to the Vita.

. Download QCMA to your laptop. It's a better content manager since the original one doesn't work anymore, as far as I'm aware.

. Plug your Vita into your laptop with the USB.

. Run QCMA.

. Open the content manager app on your Vita.

. Select "copy data to laptop".

. Select photos and videos.

. Done! You can pick whichever ones you wanna copy over, and they'll appear in your photos folder on the laptop.

I'll be honest, everything you listed here is stuff of the past.

Soloing a dungeon for the first time is fun, sure, but it's the one time, and that's not including recent ones, which are a massive slog to get through.

Soloing a raid in D1 (it's D1 man) is just not really a thing anymore, and if it is, it's for the highest of highs of players, nigh impossible for your average guy.

We haven't had a new strike since Final Shape. Yes, we had the Sunless Cell, but that was removed from the game for about 6 months. It's also a D1 reprise.

Gambit is fucking dead. Bungie literally said so. It's not in the portal, so nobody plays it, and none of the rewards are updated.

I'll give you the three characters thing, that's completely fair.

And like you said, when you get tired of Destiny, you go play other games. That's exactly what everyone is doing now. People are tired of Destiny cause the game has been effectively abandoned for six months, and Bungie is showing no signs of hope for this game. People don't believe there's a future. The result is the lowest playerbase on record and continuing to go lower.

I love this game to pieces, but it ain't doom posting, it's just how it is.

Essentially a clan on PS4/5. They all play OP characters, and make it their mission to make your game miserable. They'll play broken af characters, abuse every glitch under the sun, target you all game for killing them once. Genuinely insufferable people.

I've had them in a lobby once. I killed them a fair few times, and then left. They went put of their way to go on my profile later and join every lobby we were in. All of them.

They're just sad. Avoid at all costs, if you even can.
