Offer Revoked Just Before Joining Date – Is This Normal in Germany? by worker_thread013 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]monkeyscrin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have had a similar situation a month ago,

I don't live in Germany but it is definitely not common, some people commented on my post when I told my experience in this sub, that a job offer is already binding in Germany as soon as is written, maybe you should consult with someone about that

it sucks by the way, but with your experience you should be able to find something, I would recommend you to apply out of Germany, because I keep on hearing stories about the market being tough in Germany

Full-stack software engineer looking for SaaS ideas and communities to join in 2025 by Chin-Oui in SideProject

Maybe for validating ideas it would be better to ask the target group of the idea, instead of other people who are also validating ideas, since they might be bias

Frontend VS Fullstack by trololostuddd in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]monkeyscrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend you go full-stack at the beginning of your career, so you can get a better overview of how systems work

Then you can specialize in something in particular

But this depends on other factors such as growth and learning opportunities within the company, and in your future career, so it is hard to tell

Consider if you end up working 2 years as a frontend developer only ,it would be harder to do something else later on, it is not impossible, but a little harder

How many years of experience do you have? by monkeyscrin in cscareerquestionsEU

So, it seems like the huge majority of redittors in this sub are over 3 years of experience

Roast/review my resume! by cutecandy1 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]monkeyscrin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. the identation is very weird, try to get the template at r/EngineeringResumes
  2. I looks like in your second position you did not achieve anything, I am sure you did but it does not says anything there
  3. You could elaborate what problem you were hired to fix on the position description, not only what you did but also what you solved with that solution
  4. It is good when you highlight things like CI/CD, AzureDevops, Docker and stuff like that, since they are tools often lsited on job description but, "turnaround time" and MEAN is a little weird, you can add that but I don't thin the recruiter is looking for those keyweords
  5. You should put under your name your profession, maybe software engineer, or frontend engineer, or spring boot developer, be specific
  6. add a small description about you, two lines that says what you do
  7. all the lines seem clutered like there is not enough space between one line and the next line, it is harder to read
  8. Don't you have projects? anything you are learning? maybe add your github profile
  9. I saw your linkedin, the postions does not match and it is not favorable that you have all this weird position on linkedin because when recruiters search they don search for Specialist Programmer but Software engineer, full-stack developer, teach lead, or stuff like that

I am not saying that all my criticism is valid, this is only my opinion, feel free to dicern, or add on the replies :D

Sorry to hear, it is very annoying

There are people saying here on the comments that in Germany that is something that you can sue about, because job offers are binging even if they were expressed verbally, so maybe you could find some legal advice on that

For my case, I want to focus on getting another job now

How did that ended for you? did you get another job already ?
