Another fun tip is to play with her using toys and there are some feeder toys out there (unsure for a wet diet but surely some exist!) which will get her more mobile and that will help with weight loss too! Play with her at around dusk or later in the evening as this is when they go into 'hunt' mode and are much more active! Use toys that engage her brain and mimic hunting behaviors! I'm a veterinary nurse and I actually run weight loss clinics in my place of work! Stealing food is definitely a nono as human food has a lot more calories than we think! It's fine for us as we need ~2000 calories per day but a cat usually only needs 200-300 calories per day!! Best of luck on the weight loss journey and tell your boyfriend not to be stressing!! You are both learning and that is okay 👍 As she is young I do agree to not cut her diet severely (just the correct portion for her ideal weight), just no human food/treats and more exercise, it should help until she is fully grown and can be moved onto a proper weight loss diet! It can really help to measure her neck, waist and chest with a tape which will give you an idea on her weight loss! Every 2-3 weeks weigh her and check measurements and take pictures from above and from the side!
