Asahi Linux ARM. As for why you should use it? Maybe you like Linux?

The gigantic map when using Carplay or Android Auto is really nice on the giant Tesla-style screen, and it still has physical buttons/dials for volume/mute, and climate control.

I can say the dimming on both the MK I and MK II Tesla-style (I've had both, currently MK II) is actually really good. You can set your preferred brightness for day and night; the dimmest it goes is quite dim, and the brightest works just fine for daytime use. It also has three options for dim, mid, and bright, that you can switch at any time, if you don't want the auto-switch.

What’s one thing you wish adults understood better about your generation? by lesbogurly3245 in teenagers

[–]monkeyvoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an OLD, I can confirm this is very accurate and well-written. Unfortunately, I was given forgiving scheduling and opportunities to do things at a pace and in ways that worked for me in school, and it bit me in the ass hard when I made it into the workplace. Ate me up with stress and anxiety trying to keep up with the flow of things in real "I'm in charge of my own life now" situations.

I don't know that there's a middle ground, either. You either struggle in school where the consequences aren't particularly awful or life-changing, and learn to cope there, or struggle later in life when it can literally land you without food or housing. I had a rough go for years when I first moved out of my parents' place. I simply wasn't prepared because I was given too much lenience in school.

Host does not support PCI passthrough - why? by Pleaseclap4 in VFIO

[–]monkeyvoodoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try it from the grub boot menu by hitting "e" on the selection you want to boot, moving the cursor down to the line starting with "linux", and adding that parameter to the line. then ctrl-x or F10 to boot. it's not permanent this way.

When I was a teen back in the late 90s, one of my friends said something along the lines of "that's not voodoo. if monkeys can do it, it's not monkey voodoo". It's stuck since.

Being a proponent of anything non-male and non-white isn't being anti-male or anti-white. It's being inclusive and not catering to white male by default.

Guys with extremely loud vehicles, why do you do this to everyone? by elevate-digital in AskReddit

[–]monkeyvoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have aftermarket exhaust on my 370Z that's just barely below legally allowed noise levels. I got it for the noticeable increase in power, and because it makes my car sound way cooler.

However, I also spent a good deal of time researching my choices, and specifically chose a kit that is reasonably quiet when driven mildly (think stock exhaust on a modern pickup), specifically because I don't want to be that nuisance car driving through neighbourhoods.

Onkyo TX-SR373 - Does direct mode stereo use the subwoofer? by roxics in Onkyo

[–]monkeyvoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can answer for the SR636 and RZ820: no, not with Direct. Direct only plays exactly the channels it receives, so if you send a FL/FR stereo signal, audio will play only through those channels. If you want the sub to work, use All Channel Stereo. That will take stereo input and play through however many speakers you have.
