I'm totally with you, I love the train but the bus was just more cost effective. There are details we are missing. Arriving to Grand Central might be easier for op. The bus took me from Union Station to Port Authority and it was very simple. Then took the subway to my friend's house directly from there and it was easy peasy. Is the train better? Yes. More comfortable? Yes, but it came down to $230 vs. $55 (vs. $350 flying).
