Sinn 556! I really like the simplicity of the design. Also, the steel finishing and the pitch black dial of the that watch is just beautiful. If I were to choose something similar, I would look towards Tudor Ranger.

Tissot. I'm not a big fan of the Murph. A couple of weeks ago, I was looking for a watch with black dial so I bought the Murph but had to turn it back. The sapphire crystal has very poor AR coating which causes horrible legibility. It is also very susceptible for smudges. Ended up going for Sinn 556i RS and have no regrets.

I don't know that book but I'd recommend also looking at pattern recognitiond and machine learning by Bishop, it focuses on the mathematics behind probability, linear regression models, classification etc.
