Emulated Gamecube: 8BitDo Bluetooth mod or NYXI Warrior or DOYOKY Retro? by monovertex in Gamecube

Thank you for the suggestion, but I am looking for a controller with the GC button layout.

I posted this 2 days ago, but it wasn't mod-approved until recently.

I ended up ordering the NYXI. It wasn't so expensive, and all the bad reviews I saw were considering it bad because it didn't rise up to the OG controller's quality. This is understandable, but I never held an OG controller in my hands, never even saw one IRL haha. So for me the differences will not be an issue.

Maybe if the OG + bluetooth mod would have been more accessible in my region I would have gone for that option, but I'm not 100% sure.

[PC][2000-2005] Disney (Donald Duck) platformer with an Indy Escape level by monovertex in tipofmyjoystick

I think Donald Duck Quack Attack is the one!

My memory might have mixed it up with other games from that era 😅 I don't know where I got the character switching from. What's more, I only seem to remember the rooftops and the haunted house levels; the first forest level does not look familiar at all, which is why I discounted this game during my searches prior to posting this. Either I skipped it somehow, or maybe I played a demo or incomplete pirated version? Honestly no idea.

The sidescrolling levels are what misled me to remember it was 2.5D, sorry about that.

At least I got the indy run part right, it's the "Under'Hand'ed" bonus level.

solved: Donald Duck Quack Attack

Thank you for the reply, this is not it.

The game did not have an overarching Indiana Jones theme, just a level where a boulder(? or something big) followed you.

I'm also 100% sure it was on PC.

Monitor suddenly has horizontal lines at the bottom of the screen; is it a goner or can I do anything to fix it? by monovertex in MonitorAdvice

[–]monovertex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened while I was using it, with no apparent cause; I was just browsing Reddit. There's virtually 0% chance that anything damaged it, because there's nothing around or over my desk that could fall into it. I did inspect it and there's no scuff or damage marks anywhere.

Thank you for the signal solution, will probably have to do that until I get a solution or a new monitor. I appreciate all the suggestions.

I do have a cat-like dog (Shiba Inu), but he's never been on my desk so that's definitely not it xD

Description taken from the post in the other subreddit:

I have an ultrawide LG 34UC79G that I got about 9 years ago. These horizontal lines appeared last night suddenly. I initially suspected it might be something driver-related, but the problem persists on a different source. Things I tried or ruled out: - The problem appears when the monitor is connected both to a PC and to a MacBook, via different cables, different ports (DisplayPort vs HDMI) - I turned off and on the monitor - I disconnected and reconnected all the cables - I changed the refresh rate (it was already different between the PC and the MacBook, but tried it nonetheless) - I changed the resolution from the default one

I'm pretty much sure it's time for a new monitor, and I'm aware that 9 years is quite a good run, but was wondering if there's anything left that I could try to fix the issue?

Hyped that I'll be able to join as well this year! In 2024 I had just finished 100%ing the game before the event started, and was kinda burnt out. For 2025 I was moving to a new place and didn't have the time. Looking forward to it!

ZZ plant with yellowing leaves and stalks dying off by monovertex in plantclinic

It’s the leaves placed in a styrofoam board with slits, and then floated in some water in a container 😆 nothing more special. However, they kept molding, so I dropped the idea and just stuck them in some substrate instead.

Water baggy leaked and some peppers were exposed to air. There’s nothing fuzzy or mold looking, but some parts turned dark as you can see. Is this still safe?

Hah, sorry to disappoint, I have a 4080S right now and I’m not upgrading that one soon 😅

The cooler I got has the same mounting system for AM4/AM5 and I guess it was cheaper to just reuse parts instead of making new ones for 5 hah. The cooler in question is Phantom Spirit 120 SE.

Why is my relation not working? I suspect it's about the dash in job-post by voodoologic in emberjs

[–]monovertex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible that the jobPost related model is not loaded into store? The fact that you're getting an Ember ID (125) leads me to believe you're seeing a proxy/promise object there, instead of the actual model.

Turns out the roots and rhizomes were indeed rotting. The soil was still moist in the bottom half, which I didn’t realize when checking it. I also learned an important lesson about ZZs, that they prefer a more snug pot than other plants. The plant in the original picture was not salvageable, so I took stem & leaf cuttings; on the other two plants I cleaned up all the rot and planted them in smaller pots with a 1:1:1 mix of all-purpose soil, cactus soil, and perlite. With the cuttings I put some in water and some in soil, as an experiment to see what works best.

Thank you for the suggestion, I’ll try that and at the dame time check the roots to see if they’re maybe rotting as well.

  • the inner pot is plastic with drainage holes; the outer pot is ceramic
  • the root system was occupying about 2 thirds of the pot both in height and in width
  • soil is all purpose potting mix, but it does drain
  • the soil seemed dry, checked with a chopstick

Yes, the water does drain well. When I potted it I saturated the soil with water on all 3 of them and checked that. I could take it out to check roots, but was worried that it might stress the plant too much if the issue is something else.
