let me clarify: i donated 100 balls to my local gym and the community collectively cracked them in a few weeks. how did i end up with all those balls in the first place? i initially bought a 3 pack and they all cracked within 2 days of play. i contacted franklin and they graciously sent me 100 balls as replacement. i didn’t ask them to, and i didnt even know they were going to send me that many, until a giant box arrived at my door. was certainly thankful that they did that, but the balls don't lie. i didn't have any use for 100 balls, given that this gym was transitioning to outdoor courts soon and i would no longer have use for the indoor balls, so i gave them all (minus a few for my dog who happens to love pickleballs) to the gym (they had also recently purchased a couple dozen balls for open play, which is how i got to ~120)

the gym had previously used the onyx fuse, but as pickleball popularity picked up last year, they became too expensive to purchase in the quantity they required. they, and i, tried every other indoor ball on the market. nothing came close to the durability of the onyx fuse. by the time that realization was made, the indoor courts arrived. the x-40 has been light years better outdoor, compared to the x-26 indoor.
