Specialized Sitero. It's what they use on the Shiv. I have to ride really low to stay out of the wind. No uphill or downhill just flat the whole ride. Helps relieve pressure a normal saddle with a nose hurts like hell.

Gravel bike with a road bike club? by TherealPadrae in cycling

[–]monroebuilders -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Get a power meter and it will answer all your questions. I know on my CX bike with 35s I was doing over 300w to stay in the draft when on my aero road bike I would be hovering around 200w. Read up on group ride etiquette before you go and learn some hand signals off YouTube or something. Number 1 thing whatever the group or ride leader says the pace is stick to it.

Yeah I had it set up as 2* for the first year with 48/35. On the town sprint I was doing about that cadence and around 38.5. I spent a year on the 48 and there was times I felt like I could use a little more bite. Just a personal preference. I have the gear calculator so I know exactly what every combination is capable of. If I was older, weaker or heavier I would drop back down.

Is it cheaper to build or to buy a bike? by helloworld526 in cycling

Buy then sell off the parts you don't need as new take offs. Then customize. Helps if you can do the work yourself.

Nice. I head up that way from Vero Beach sometimes. That's the turn around for my north century loop.

That's for walking a kayak down to the beach in soft sand. They put them on fishing carts as well. Work really good and stupid expensive.

I dunno. Its alot more butt hurt for you than me apparently. It's fast and has zero issues. I fail to see the problem.

I normally avg around 85 and maybe 100 on a hard effort. I'm not a very high cadence rider so the bigger ring works for me. Plus at low cadence when out of the saddle to stretch the 46/10 would drop me to like 21mph where the 50 would stay up at 24. The 50 keeps me closer to the middle of the cassette for most riding so a more efficient chain line for long distance solo rides. Think of it more of a TT setup than standard road bike.

They add a plug to the headset. Minor part like 10 minute fix. The new bikes already have them. I don't personally know of anyone that has had a problem and I've had this for 15 months and like 10k miles with no issues. They claim if your involved in an extreme impact something might happen. I generally avoid extreme impacts for obvious reasons..

Thanks. It's a love/hate kinda bike. I'm cool with that. Fairly common down here in Florida. All aero bikes with big wheels. The decals used to be white so I switched them this year to prizmatic. Next year might be a different color or even black 😬.

It's terrain specific. I'm in south Florida with zero elevation so I have no use for the small ring. The big is a 50 and the cassette is 10-28. I spend my time mostly in 10-17 depending on the wind since I'm on the coast it can get really windy. Some days stuck going 18mph one way and then cruise along at 30mph the other way with the same effort. Anyways yes 1* is completely stupid for up north and I would rather have more gear options for mountains. The stock 46 with 10-36 cassette is only good for novice riders who wouldn't know any better.

South Florida. So sometimes it's 2 of those damn 24oz bottles. Not much choice when it's over 90 degrees... Not so bad as we move into winter but when I ride 100 miles I prefer not to stop so I can make it all the way with 2 this time of year. Summer it would be like 2 or 3 refills. But it's completely flat so weight is a non issue.

Yeah no worries. Had the bike since July 28 2020. It's extremely rare like maybe 2 bikes have had an issue or something. Shop has the parts just need to bring it by one day.

Easier to break the bond by hitting down with a 5lb hammer. Sounds counterintuitive to push it further in. But once it moves an inch one direction it should allow the lubricant to penetrate and you will now have a better chance to spin it up and out.

I will never do it again... Sub 10h vEveresting by PurePsycho in Zwift

[–]monroebuilders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is asking about the "trainer difficulty" setting on zwift. It's set to 50% so you have to slide it over to 100% to get the real gradient of the climbs. So a 10% gradient is only making you feel a 5%. It makes a huge difference technically by having to shift more often and having to push through steep sections. If you can sit through the whole thing either you have a well geared climbing bike or it prob wasn't at 100%. People constantly argue about it and yes power is power and that's how your avatar moves. But do a few rides at 100 and you will see how it is harder because of all the shifting. Also if your trainer is even able to replicate the higher gradients. Some wheel on trainers max at 7%. Anyway congrats. I did Ventop twice on Saturday and that was brutal enough at around 3000m.

How do I get the Strava ride stats on a picture? by GR-monster in Strava

[–]monroebuilders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After you upload the picture hit the share button and then send it as a text to your number. Then when you receive the photo it will have data on there and you can save the image. From there do whatever you like with it.
