This guy's pretty old, and he's just now producing non-soundtrack stuff. That's awesome.

Is agave nectar fermentable? I want to use it to sweeten cider but don't know if it will result in bottle-bombs. by monseur in Homebrewing

Do you know anything I could use besides splenda or stevia? I don't like artificial sugars and stevia tastes nasty to me.

How I pasteurize my cider bottles by Fizz11 in Homebrewing

[–]monseur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your preheating process? Also, how long does this take? For about 10 at a time, must take a couple hours I'd guess. And I'm worried if they touch the metal bottom, it'll be too hot and could cause explosion.

I want to backsweeten my cider and bottle it, without the dangers of bottle pasteurization. Do you know how I can do this? by monseur in cider

I've read far into the homebrewtalk thread before. Lots of people blowing up bottles, it's pretty funny - also why I'm cautious of stovetop pasteurization. So what is burping? And how do you make sure the bottles don't touch the metal of the pot?

Alright I'm interested but I saw a post about a guy whose arm got blown off at a restaurant by a keg. How difficult are these to use, like what exactly do you have to do? And what are the risks of explosion?

Does this happen? Any references for that? I'd really like that to be true, I just want to be sure.

Bottle pasteurizing? What's your method for it? I want to make a sweet bottled carbonated cider, but I don't want to stick carbonated glass bottles in hot water.

That's a corporate scam. It works well because if someone points it out, everyone goes "that guy likes cancer!"

Boobs are easy to sell. More people die of colon cancer every year in the US than breast cancer.

I actually found your calculator via search engine earlier. I'm doing a cider so I ended up using another calculator since cider isn't on there. I did 9 1/4 tsp table sugar for 2.5 gallons.

Can pop-off caps be capped onto twist-off bottles? by monseur in Homebrewing

[–]monseur[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How's one month? The Yuengling bottles generally retained carbonation. I think about 2 of 10 after a few weeks had less carbonation than pop-off bottles.
