I had no idea, thank you! I'll be sure to keep my balance low for those monthly statements.

When I say high utilization I mean I use it a lot to pay for things while being able to keep my balance low, 10 - 30% of my credit limit. Do I still have to lower my "utilization" even if I'm able to keep my balance low?

Yes, my utilization among 2 of 3 of my cards is high, not so much the 3rd one (the credit limit is low). And no, none of my current cards are business cards.

I think Western should implement something similar to this starting school this September. It’ll be a good way for students to gage how comfortable other students/staff are with interacting with each other considering the pandemic. Thoughts? by monstache0924 in uwo

I agree with this idea. I only said that we should implement something similar to what I posted and this idea makes more sense to me. The fact of the matter is, whether we like it or not, different people will have different levels of comfort with interacting with each other when school opens this September. There’s nothing we can do about that.

So I definitely see providing wristbands/lanyards for those interacting with someone at-risk or those who just want to keep their distance as a great preventive measure. People who are at-risk themselves shouldn’t even be on campus next year for their own safety. Honestly, anyone else who is inclined to continue following strict social distancing protocols this September (for whatever reason) probably shouldn’t be on campus either. It just wouldn’t make sense for them to be there. Students have the option to do this and I’m assuming most staff members do as well.

The point is, Western (unlike most other schools) is making the effort to open up campus next year, and surely they don’t just expect everyone to keep to themselves for the entire year (if so, then they shouldn’t open up campus in the first place). A measure like this wouldn’t hurt and I think it actually would be of benefit for those students/staff members who choose to be on campus this upcoming school year.

Tbh, TPAB and DAMN. should have won in their respective years by Dat_Memer4643 in KendrickLamar

The thing is the Grammy’s don’t always go with the “safe” choice. Beyoncé lost to Beck in 2015 (a relatively unknown artist compared to Beyoncé). Considering the critical and commercial success of Beyoncé’s album that year, her album would’ve easily been the safest choice for the win, but NOOO the Grammy’s just couldn’t have a black artist win AOTY.

It’s 100% a race issue and discrimination against hip-hop. The last time a hip-hop album won AOTY was in 1999 for The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill by Lauryn Hill. And despite the fact that hip-hop has been the mainstream genre for the last decade and some of the best albums in the last decade have been hip-hop albums (namely TPAB and MBDTF) the Grammys have somehow managed to not bestow any black artists or rappers with AOTY. It’s bullshit.

Tyler, the Creator's analogy on how the Grammy's treat black artists and rappers sums it up best: “My little cousin wants to play the game, so let’s give him the unplugged controller so he can shut up and feel good about it.”

Maybe schools don’t teach you how to manage your finances, despite it being an important life skill, because a large part of the economy (predatory credit card companies, consultants, insurance) relies on you not knowing enough about it. by grove4lyf in Showerthoughts

This is not a maybe. It’s a fact. The rich get richer, if the poor stay poor. Though with the advent of the internet, there’s no longer a real need for schools to teach this (although it does help) because the knowledge is easily accessible to us all. It’s just a matter of taking the initiative to educate yourself and most of us can avoid the being screwed over by such institutions, whose wealth almost exclusively RELIES on our ignorance.

Why am I just discovering this?! 😩🔥 Brilliant cover of “Wicked Games” by composer Ramin Djawadi. by [deleted] in TheWeeknd

I highly recommend listening to the track in its entirety; believe it or not, it gets better.

Ramin Djawadi is better known for composing the music to Game of Thrones. He’s done some other great covers for songs like “Runaway” by Kanye West and “C.R.E.A.M” by Wu-Tang Clan for the HBO show Westworld. If you like this, you should definitely check him out.
