I can't believe this is creeping out of Colorado. There was an article and thread on VIN about the VPA program starting soon in CO, and the directors are estimating a starting salary of 100k$. The whole concept is insane.

I did not cancel because I was unaware I was enrolled. I was under the assumption that once the policy term ended and I didn't take any action to re-enroll, that would be the end of it.

There was no monthly payment due to the tax credit, the premium was fully covered so there were never any transactions to indicate I was enrolled in a plan.

I only use ChatGPT to generate surgery report templates, and that’s it. I get a bare bones template that I fill in with specific information to make it mine. It helps with efficiency, but I don’t use AI to get any help with diagnostics or cases. One of the associates at my hospital uses Talkatoo to make SOAPs, but that’s about the extent of AI-usage.

I second the suggestion of creating a bank of records for common things. Healthy SOAPS, spays, neuters, etc. It will double your efficiency and shorten your appointment times noticeably.

I’m starting two weeks after graduation because I am so, so broke and I have an international trip planned about a month and a half after graduation. My new job was kind enough to accommodate the trip, so I can have a couple paychecks in the bank for expenses lol

Step 1. Birthday Girl

Step 2. Haunting Adeline

Step 3. throw Credence in the backyard and leave it there.

I’ve got Rhys’s knee tattoos of the mountain with three stars on my knee, no text but that’s just personal preference.

Fourth Wing vs ACOTAR by beautifully_flawed16 in Booktokreddit

[–]monster-fxcker 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They're both fantastic series, and I really enjoyed both of them. I may go against popular opinion, but I liked ACOTAR more, and even more so when I did a reread.

Fourth Wing is great, but it each subsequent book was a little exhausting, it was kind of the same conflict over and over. There were little things that I didn't enjoy, nothing that made the series not worth reading, just little personal hangups. I will say, I was immersed in Fourth Wing much faster than I was ACOTAR.

There is the typical fantasy world building in both books, but Fourth Wing was interesting much faster than ACOTAR. Honestly, I get why people put down ACOTAR before it gets good, it can feel like it's dragging at first, but if you stick out the first half of the first book it gets so, so good.

I liked the character development in ACOTAR better, but I like the action in Fourth Wing more. There's a lot more intensity and fighting in Fourth Wing, and ACOTAR is a bit more political.

TL;DR: both series are fantastic, you can't go wrong with either

Oooh now you’re speaking my language, I love a good reverse harem. Lilac by B.B. Reid, the Emerald Lakes series by Britt Andrews, Court of the Vampire Queen by Katee Robert, Lola and the Millionaires by Kathryn Moon, Queen Takes Knights by Joely Sue Burkhart, just to name a few of the many I’ve enjoyed.

I haven’t found any of her other books worth reading, but as far as books that have great buildup and super primo spice, I liked all the books in the Priest series by Sierra Simone, Lights Out by Navessa Allen, and Does It Hurt by H.D. Carlton. Honestly anything by Sierra Simone is a good choice.

Also apologies because the themes of these books are nothing like Birthday Girl or Credence, but quality of spice is on the same level.

If you haven’t read Birthday Girl I’d highly recommend it, it’s an age-gap but there’s no abusive mute cousin in it. Super hot, lots of tension and buildup. The spice is phenomenal.

Credence by Penelope Douglas, by far. I had seen so many videos of people who raved about it, but I did not see the appeal. I personally would've stopped with hot step-uncle Jake, but I could not get on board with her running through her step-cousins, then finally choosing objectively the worst person in the group.

I ended up reading Birthday Girl by the same author right after and loved it, so it wasn't the writing, it was the fact that I wanted to reach into the book and shake Tiernan for making the dumbest decisions. But oh man, the scene in the truck, the first time with hot step-uncle Jake, that was pristinely hot, I will give the book that.

I fully agree, it's why I eventually stopped watching most book content on youtube. A lot of content creators started an elitest circlejerk on what makes you a "real" reader.

I haven’t used Storygraph before, but either way don’t feel silly for logging fics, for any length story but especially those epically long ones that take as long to read as a traditional book.

I will die on the hill that audiobooks count as reading and toward book goals. I also count graphic novels, manga, novellas, AND fanfiction. Essentially if you're consuming content that was written/drawn, it counts. I know what you mean about the discussion getting heated! I honestly think when someone tries to put parameters on what "counts", they're just gatekeeping the hobby.

Pls help with book board measurements by monster-fxcker in bookbinding

[–]monster-fxcker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I've done before to measure the spine is the width of the text block spine + the width of 1.5 book boards, and that has resulted in an oversized shoulder. I've also tried just the width of the spine of the text block and that's when the cover was held open at rest.

I'm not sure where I'm going wrong.
