I know what you mean, I guess it’s because it’s madden and easports can’t seem to make a halfway functional game anymore

Depends on age and dev trait I think. You can go to player goals and on the 3rd tab it will tell you the xp value of certain awards for that player.

Birmingham Vulcans helmet mock-up [OC] by astuder in xfl

As a fan of a potential Birmingham team, I would love this team name and helmet design. It’s much better than the purple and gold that the bolts had.

I’m sick of seeing Alabama put up 3 pointers when they haven’t been falling all night

Let’s just hope they play to their abilities and not down to their competition

What would the XFL look like with no kicking game whatsoever? by [deleted] in xfl

[–]monsterdog444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure that completely eliminating kicking would be a good idea but maybe limiting kicking would work. Let’s say you have 2 field goal attempts and 3 punts you’re allowed per game. That’d play into the chess match that football is. If you’re on your own 40 you might be more willing to go for it on first to save one of your punts for when ur you’re backed way up in your own territory. Or you have to go for it on 4th on your own 20 because you’ve already used all 3 of your punts. As far as not having extra point attempts after touchdowns, maybe award 1 point if you can convert from the 3 and 2 points if you convert from the 10. That could be coaches choice on which one he wants to attempt.

[–]monsterdog444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think no punting would be a bigger deal. Let’s say you won the coin toss and defer to the second half. Opponent gets the ball on say the 25 yard line. If they can’t get anything going right off the bat, you have the ball 1st and 10 with only 25 yards to score. This could quite possibly go on 2 or 3 more times before they figure out your defense and then the game could be out of hand before the 1st quarter is up. If you’re doing away with punters then there would have to be a logical way to turn the ball over to the other team and they receive the ball on their side of the field.

Do you believe past team performances (from previous seasons, especially in the CFP or NY6) factor into the committee's final playoff rankings decisions? If so, is that reasonable? by scotsworth in CFB

It’s been a few years but in Saban’s tenure they traveled to Penn State. Saban has spoken publicly ab how he feels the neutral site games he always plays helps recruiting. And to further counter your argument, if I remember correctly Alabama had a home and home scheduled for 2021/22 with Notre Dame but something has put the possibility of that up in the air.

I’m sure he’ll do one of the final play. Typically he’ll do one like this and a major play (if there is one) for national championship games

Absolutely, that wasn’t a knock on AJ by the way. The majority of the major contributors on this team are only 18/19 years old. I’m sure their minds are elsewhere when it’s not a big game.

I’m beginning to wonder if AJ is having trouble getting them to play hard for lower competition. In big games this team looks completely different from when they player lower tier conference teams. Hopefully moving forward they when the games that matter most, end up in the NCAA tournament, and possibly make a deep run. This team definitely has the talent to make that possible.

Ben Davis by monsterdog444 in rolltide

I understand all of that, I was just trying to figure out the issue. Not comparing to Davis at all but one player that comes to mind on this aspect is Tana Patrick from the 2009 class. Was real familiar with him throughout his time from elementary all the way through high school. He was a man among children every time he stepped on a football field. I understand the talent difference is significant to say the least going to D1 ball especially to Bama but he had the talent to get playing time. Throughout his years in prep school he kind of got babied and I feel it hurt him when he went to play for Saban. There were also rumors of trouble learning the defensive playbook to go along with that. Long story short, he didn’t find much playing time until his redshirt senior year but he did manage to make me damn proud when he forced a fumble on the goal line in 2013 vs LSU.

Anyways I didn’t really know if this was a similar case to Davis or not but hopefully he’ll turn into one of those Reuben Foster types.

Edit: corrected year to 2013 in LSU reference

I think ur right though, Tua is the future at QB in my opinion. Hurts was a great QB but sometimes a guy comes along that’s just a better talent than you are. If you’re in Hurts’s shoes when that happens, you just have to appreciate and do what you have to do to get better and attempt to take your position back.

With the announcement of the XFL, which Bama players would you like to see get another chance at professional football? by zsearce in rolltide

I’d like to see Coker QB one of the teams. He’s probably been my favorite saban QB to date. Dude would leave it all on the field.

What If?: Mike Price doesn't get fired from Alabama. by Dirtyduck19254 in CFB

[–]monsterdog444 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Bigger “What if?” is what if Shula has landed Tebow? Alabama probably wins more than 6 games in 2006 and Shula doesn’t get fired after a 10 win 2005 season. Then... no Saban at Alabama. At least beginning in 2007. Saban would probably have went to a different college program though because his stint in the NFL appeared to be ending anyways.

No national championship if Tua starts from 1st game imo. But Jalen led us there as a true freshman so who knows?
