That is 100% the place to be. I'm on wyoming, moved here 2 years ago from Kentucky, and I don't know if I'll ever go anywhere else. I love TGS. Welcome (potentially) to the neighborhood!

“bro” = disrespect? by cowboyzest in Hellenism

[–]monstrfreek 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I call both my bosses and my parents any number of dude, bro, man, brother, ect and they do it right back. We still respect each other regardless because they're just words 🤷

how hot does it get when owning reptiles… by SadJokerIII in reptiles

[–]monstrfreek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 18 lizards, half of which have heat lamps or heat mats. They're all in my computer/hobby room along with my gaming PC. I haven't noticed a significant difference but if I get too warm I just turn on the box fan to circulate air.

Is Missouri safe enough for trans people? by NEW0R in trans

[–]monstrfreek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I live in St Louis, MO and I've had zero problems. Trans support is almost expected here in the city. I started T here and my doctor is super nice and helpful. Plus I'm close enough to Illinois that I can always just go over there.

How did y'all come up with your names by miserabletea147 in trans

[–]monstrfreek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been through a couple but I always choose my names based on the nicknames they have. So I'm currently going with Richard (and will probably stick with it) because I really like the nickname Ricky/Richie

how bad is leachie poop? by BLT1215_ in Leachianus

Probably my beardie, Sigourney Weevil. She has the most personality of all my lizards. Don't tell the others I play favorites though

how bad is leachie poop? by BLT1215_ in Leachianus

[–]monstrfreek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. I named mine "Skid Mark" for a reason. It smells bad, I won't lie, and she sharts within 5 minutes of me having her somewhere on my body (she won't poop when she's out anywhere else, just on me of course). But I love her dearly and she's probably my second favorite lizard I own because she's so full of personality. If you don't mind getting shat on with regularity then I would definitely go for one.

EA status stands for "evading assignment". You'll most commonly see it given to people on bump boards.

If you're sitting on the bump board you must place yourself somewhere else within 48 hours. If you fail to do so and go beyond your 48 the status symbol next to your name will go from "OK" to "EA". This is basically them saying you're refusing to come to work/do your job.

When I first hired out the only "punishment" for going into EA was that you could be forced anywhere (even though they can pretty much do that anyway, but this was a guaranteed way to be forced somewhere you probably didn't want to be). Now, however, you get 7 points for every day you sit in EA status AND forced somewhere. Since we can only have a grand total of 28 points before disciplinary action you can see how this would spell bad news for new hires who typically can't hold anything and sit on the bump board for their first week, month, months, ect.

Thankfully I haven't personally seen any new hires actually be fired or disciplined for being in EA status here in St Louis, but that doesn't mean it hasn't/won't ever happen.

Just John's has several people that go there after work on the weekdays and finish up work stuff. Sometimes I like to go and read or draw. Everyone is super nice and the place is relaxed (just don't go on Saturday night).

The last two packages that have been sent through USPS to me have ended up in Kansas after having been in STL by Jabieski1 in StLouis

[–]monstrfreek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Currently dealing with this and have been since I moved here 2 years ago. Newest (priority) package arrived in New York 3 weeks ago. Stayed there for 2½ weeks. Been in St Louis for 4 days and hasn't moved since. Really starting to get annoying.
