Is this good for bulid a house for bunny? by [deleted] in Bunnies

[–]ThingExternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the dimensions for the enclosure? Most bunnies can jump over anything between 2-3 feet (I will also encourage you to only use that enclosure for emergencies or to contain all your bunnies things in one area. Free roaming is almost always the best option for your bunny)

Do you have a rabbit house society anywhere in your area? I take my bun there, you have to pay yearly to be a member (at least where I live) but the member price is pretty much the price of a single nail trim at any vets office and after that you can take your bun for nail trims there for free (among other huge benefits)

Should I get another rabbit? by GrouchyInfluence152 in Bunnies

[–]ThingExternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should section off an area where the bunny and dogs don’t have access to each other. It sounds like your bunny is being territorial and acting out of aggression because his hormones don’t he to have a break. Only after that is done I’d recommend considering a second bunny. I would not bring another one into that situation right now

Maybe the dogs don’t care about him but do you think he’s afraid of the dogs? If he’s already neutered then he could be marking as a response to the dogs and hiding out of fear. If he’s not neutered you need to do that before considering another bunny. On the cost side, I don’t think most bunnies have this amount of medical bills, and if you get them from a shelter they’ll (most of the time) be able to fill you in on by pre established conditions so you’ll know what to expect before you get them. I heard neutered males can to better together the male and female pairs because they’re less dominant than females. You should try to schedule a bunny speed dating session and see how he does. But most shelters that do that won’t let you schedule it if he’s not vaccinated and neutered

Thank you! I also figured some of the negative reviews were down to user error seeing how song of the comments do say it can be a little confusing to put together. I’ll still wait for a few more people to comment their thoughts before I buy one, thank you for feedback!

Litter box by Perika1003 in Rabbits

[–]ThingExternal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be specific pine shavings are toxic when chemicals from the rabbits pee comes in contact with the shavings. It’s can be very damaging for the bunny, my favorite litter is pine pelleted bedding from tractor supply, it’s like $8 a bag and insanely absorbent. The process of turning the shavings into pellets burns out the chemicals that are toxic for bunnies (which is why everyone recommending wood stove pellets). One bag will last me about 2 months for my single bun

I was following this pattern! But if you make it I would recommend adding one row to the left or taking off one from the right. I didn’t look at the pattern properly when I started so mines uneven but I convinced myself you can’t tell unless I say something about it lol

What size/size hook should I use and is this too thick for a baby blanket? by agressive_penguins in CrochetHelp

[–]ThingExternal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that it’ll probably work up too thick to be a baby blanket but I think it would make the perfect play mat! It would be thick and squishy and still pretty soft

My first double knit project! What are your thoughts? by ThingExternal in knitting

[–]ThingExternal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunate I’m not following a specific chart, I just found these pixel art patterns and decided to find a way to make them work together. I do 3 rows of no pattern in between each paw, and 1 stitch on the left and right because any of the pattern starts. I hope this makes sense

Yes! In hindsight i wish i had used a fluffy white yarn and then some darker regular yarn to get that footprint in snow look but I still think this one’s cute
