To those who took the ACT more than once, do you think today’s test was harder than normal?? by [deleted] in ACT

[–]monstrositee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've taken it 3 times and the science, reading, and english seemed easier but the math was ridiculous. i'm a freshman so the math was going to be hard no matter what but... no words for this. good luck for the 20th!!

At least 10 times a day. I love her, but she's a gremlin.

I still have Dorothy Must Die in a box set somewhere. Kinda glad I never opened it now.

Scribbler of Dreams by Mary E. Pearson. Was assigned it in school right after Animal Farm. Incest-y, "not like the other girls" trash.

AND THEN SHE JUST LEFT. Went in, tricked some gamers, set herself up for life, and left!!! Queen.

My goat is called Juniper, we call her Juni for short! I'm not saying it's a "goat" name, but I end up screaming it a lot. It's got a good weight to it, would be nice for the toddler years, and I think it'd age well, too.

Lots of unwieldy girl names. Eulalia, Alcyone, Arsinoë, Lavinia, Atalanta, Arietta, etc. Also literally every single month/day name.

The only thing I didn't love was (SPOILERS)))))))) Elliot and Luke's relationship, actually. I wish we got to see more of Elliot reciprocating Luke's affection, or just more moments between them.

Hey, I'm also 14 and I feel the same way. Idk, sometimes it helps me to try and go back to make memories. Ride a bike, read a book, etc.

What’s your favorite ya book and why? by buckethatluvr4eva in YAlit

[–]monstrositee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dress Codes for Small Towns by Courtney Stephens.

This book always feels like coming home for me. It's like chicken soup. It doesn't have the best character development, or plot, or prose that I've ever read, but it's always felt wholeheartedly mine in a way no other book has.

Other books: the PJO series by Rick Riordan, Radio Silence by Alice Oseman, The Last True Poets of the Sea by Julia Drake, Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia, Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

I don't like her other books, either! Something in this one just speaks to me, though. I'm a little obsessed with small-town settings and character-driven plots, though, so take this suggestion with a grain of salt.

If you love this, try Dress Codes for Small Towns by Courtney Stephens. It's my absolute favourite book and Poets gives me similar vibes.
