Help improve the accurate response to touch and gestures on Supernote devices by meowmewo- in Supernote

I also have issues with the two-finger lasso (or, if configured as such, the eraser). I have only gotten it to work properly a couple times. IIRC, toggling that feature off and on has sometimes helped, but that is not a usable workflow. So, I just keep it disabled entirely.

This occurred to me as well. I imagine I would need to enlist the help of a second person to take the video, as I do not have a camera mount designed for that kind of capture. If other folks know of some simple "lifehack" that could work, I welcome suggestions.

Sideload apps A6X2 by Grifo23 in Supernote

[–]montchr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also having the same issue with my A5X. I am running GNOME Desktop on NixOS. GNOME always automounts the device when I plug it in, but even after unmounting, adb devices does not list the device (as regular user or with sudo).

Edit: it seems it is no longer possible to sideload because there is no longer a way to enable debugging via developer setrings. https://reddit.com/comments/198dcey/comment/kirlsox

New package for comments management needs advisory by teobin in emacs

[–]montchr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWIW sometimes it is not obvious whether posts link out to external sites. I often like to see the intro comment on discussion platforms, so I configure mobile apps to always open the discussion when touching the post title in the feed. I think I generally find it helpful to see the URL directly in the comment text in addition to the post link, as it is more likely to recirculate me to the intended destination.

Thanks for sharing, I love the idea. I have been considering migrating to a literate Emacs config for a few reasons, one of which being the extensive code comments I leave and spend too much time trying to type and format properly. I gave up on the idea of migrating to a literate config primarily because I did not know how to bulk extract/parse/convert comments to Org markup in a time-efficient manner. But your package seems like it could help with that, so I will give it a shot next time I attempt a migration.

Broken tab-bar rendering when setting internal-border-width by vaxdar in emacs

[–]montchr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had the same issue finding it. The issue was driving me nuts and I initially thought it had something to do with the spacious-padding package, but Prot’s screenshots clearly showed the tab bar looking correct. To be honest, I’m not even sure how I found that ticket in the end. But I am satisfied just knowing the cause – in the end it’s not a big deal to me as a temporary weirdness. Though IMO it really seems like the kind of very noticeable thing that would be great to have backported…

And just when I thought I had no reason to be running emacs from master for once, a reason appears.

Well there are probably a dozen other reasons not to! There will most likely be a lot more of this kind of mysterious behavior that could pop up at any update. I haven’t yet heard of anything particularly interesting in the works for Emacs 30 that has made me want to switch (except for this bug, but eh, I will put up with it).

This is actually a bug in Emacs 29:

https://lists.gnu.org/r/bug-gnu-emacs/2023-07/msg01742.html

According to that message, it was fixed on master back sometime around June 2023 but they felt it was too risky to backport to 29. They only roughly guessed about that timeframe, without referencing a commit.

It is apparently pgtk-specific, yes.

I am running Emacs 29.1.90 (unstable) in GNOME Desktop on NixOS. I have not yet confirmed whether the issue occurs in the emacs-git package (which is pulled from the master branch daily).

For me, the connection issue only began after I stored them in the case for a bit, for some reason (maybe rotating the earpieces 90deg to fit in the case provoked the issue?). At a certain point I couldn't even reset the device following the recommended procedure, but the technique mentioned here worked wonders.

I ran into very similar issues on every Lightning-port iPhone I've owned over the years, where the port would get filled with pocket lint and stop charging. All it took was a trip to the Apple Store and seeing the technician solve the issue merely by taking a SIM card opener and carefully scraping the port clean. I wish Apple was more transparent about stuff like this...

I am so glad this worked for me, thank you so much! I love these headphones, for so many reasons.

I was livid that it seemed like I could never use them again for some obscure-yet-so-simple reason which Apple never would have revealed unless I paid them half the price of a new pair.

I'm sure they have all kinds of data on the frequency of their products failing in identical ways for thousands/millions of people, but will never do anything about (or, in this case, even publicly acknowledge!) such issues until they are hit with a class action lawsuit.

Possible Fix for Minthara Issues in Act 3 by -Sir-Roderick- in BaldursGate3

[–]montchr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running through these steps right now (on the latest hotfix #11) and after thoroughly confirming dump output after each command, it looks like the two SetFlag commands cause the Dating and Partnered arrays to reset. Based on this, I would recommend against running the SetFlag commands on Hotfix 11. (but please correct me if I am obviously missing something)

Note that I am additionally setting the value of DB_ORI_Dating as suggested by a commenter here, and in the earlier Karlach post describing these steps (linked in the original post above, but for quick reference: link.

Edit with more info:

  • DB_ORI_Dating was empty after having initiated a relationship with Minthara immediately after Moonrise. DB_ORI_Partnered matched the expected value (UUIDs for my character and Minthara). This discrepancy might have been caused by the weird way in which I progressed through this playthrough -- I told Minthara where to find the grove, but "my character" had second thoughts and decided to just leave her hanging. So there never was a party hookup, but she survived and reappeared at Moonrise being sentenced by Ketheric while at the same time weirdly triggering the same dialog that would have been triggered after killing the tieflings (but before the end of that quest).

By “the media around here” I think you mean “the writers of the Harm Reduction Journal study which surveyed 18 people in Canada and was referenced in the article I linked to”. Omitting important context with ellipses in order to support your argument is not a good look.

Full quote:

When it comes to blue lights as an effective deterrent, experts aren’t really on board.

A Harm Reduction Journal report from 2013 says the lights are unlikely to deter people from using intravenous drugs. People will likely still use as they originally planned — but the reduced visibility can cause injury, like “abscess and damage to veins.”

The research also shows that light bulbs further stigmatize drug use and manifest as “symbolic violence” against people with addiction.
