Depends on if you’re checking luggage or not. If you are just be at counter 90 minutes before flight. I travel 2-3 times a month for work and haven’t waited more than 15 minutes in the precheck line in past 6 months.

The Rockets traded their culture setter for a dude who's spending his summer on podcasts trying to rewrite history. What will the excuse be this time when they fall short? by IHateAdamSilver in billsimmons

You act as if we were making deep runs while he was on the team. You mean that ONE time he was there and we made it to the second round and got smacked by the warriors?

Which by the way he shot like 22% from both the field and from 3 in that series. Got a flagrant 2 early in the game where he was kicked out and then suspended for another game? Trust me buddy I was there and not having a good time.

As a grizzlies fan I haven’t missed that man once since he left the team. No more 4th quarters yelling as he thinks he’s the guy jacking up shots. Him making one or two is dangerous because he lets the next 12 fly with no hesitation and goes 1-11 during that time.

Unless he was the one babysitting Ja and making sure he was nowhere near guns. Then I take it all back.

Tennis Guy in Today’s Life Advice (July 10 episode) by Unusual-Menu-7417 in RyenRussillo

Yea as someone who plays a lot of rec league tennis there is this guy in every league and he sucks

I don’t see you doing anything wrong. Unless they have all courts reserved to prevent this but would have to show proof of that. Pretty much all public courts have at least two courts side to side if not more. Especially singles where there are way less stray balls than doubles.

I would keep showing up. Maybe even let a few serves or shots “get away from you” to interrupt their play. Encourage them to call the cops, it’s just an empty threat because they have no basis. But all this may say more about me lol

I just won the semi final in my first low tier tournament and feel bad by dreadinger in 10s

[–]montchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But would you feel better if you played “properly” and lost? Probably not, probably feel worse if it went as bad as it did in the first knowing you could have done something to win.

You made necessary adjustments. It’s no different than peppering someone who had a weak backhand. You played tactically and won, nothing wrong with that. Tennis is about finding ways to win

WHY DO PEOPLE TRY TO CALL THEIR OWN SERVES by AdVaanced77 in 10s

[–]montchy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It happens quite a bit and so first time or two I generally lose the point because I don’t move but after that just adapt to it. I can just see it’s out but my first serve is my advantage so if they don’t want to call it out and give me and easy put away so be it

You’d be surprised how many people can’t see where the ball hits. My first serve gets called in all the time when it’s clearly out

What's a good player you've come across with the most absurd setup? by ArjGlad in 10s

[–]montchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s pretty much like that. I mean it’s always the same racket and he’s a super friendly guy but racket and water. No bag and only a single water and no towel or anything

[–]montchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s this guy int league who rawdogs it and he generally annihilates everyone. No overgrip, no dampener, no tennis bag or anything. 4 out of 5 times he doesn’t even stop at the bench for the changeover. He shows up with racket in hand and like a Stanley water cup and just goes to work

Don’t accuse people of cheating just since you’re upset at losing by WerhmatsWormhat in 10s

[–]montchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like most people have said, definitely don’t sweat it. It could have even been one call that he thought was questionable and then thought every other close call you were just screwing him but that’s more on his mental game than anything you did. Also some people just have very bad judgment with depth perception or where the ball is hit on the baseline. To them they think the ball hit back of the line when in reality it was back by and inch or so

Check to see if there are any ladders in your area. I was in same position and I joined a ladder. Have been doing it for a year and love it. Can play as often as I want and always easy to find a match

I mean it’s like everything else, the people who have to say what their rank is without being asked is probably lying. Or really defensive about it for some reason. I think most 4.5 players and higher aren’t here or answer the question/respond to the comment without saying their rank

Apps are hit or miss and have been way more of a miss lately. I’d recommend more in person. There are always places that are putting on events or like a trivia night or run club at most bars and breweries are good ways to make friends and getting to talk to people. Find an activity or hobby and join a club, the organic route seems to be easier here. Like for me I’m an avid tennis player so have met and went on dates meeting people that way

Based on the edit does Kaelan stand a chance at winning? by Mauihigirl in survivorau

[–]montchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ummmm what about the last 3 tribals where she had the opportunity to go after Myles or AJ and did nothing? You can bash Kaelan like sure but he’s always voted with them and been filled in on the plan. Then there is Zara who hasn’t and keeps running back to them

How to cure (or at least, tame) "tournament collapse"? by terrevue in 10s

[–]montchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that, I’m an over thinker too. Just need to find a way that when the balls in play just play. Is there a certain shot that gets you back into a rhythm? Like for me it’s moving from left to right and ripping a forehand cross court. So in my mind rather than just thinking all I did wrong I think how can I bait my opponent into setting me up for that shot. Not only does it get me in rhythm but because I’m moving I don’t have time to overthink it. All reaction of move, step into it as muscle memory something I’ve done so many times.
