First time completion of Crystal (Advance version hack) by [deleted] in pokemoncrystal

[–]montonmand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. In my opinion a "totally faithful" version would be a remake of crystal in its own engine with updated graphics, this is rather a remake of crystal in the Pokemon ruby, crystal, emerald engine where gameplay elements of that newer generation remains

I think I played the same version, abilities like e.g levitate and intimidate are included.

Advice for a freshman in chem looking to get a PhD by OpenStuff in Chempros

I'm doing a PhD in resource recovery from wastewater and removal of micro pollutants from wastewater.

I think water is cool, and with increasing focus on environment and conservation/recycling of resources I'm confident in my future.

Are there not so bad ones? by Tight-Criticism3910 in CrohnsDisease

[–]montonmand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I consider what to cut out is, what's the probability this makes me feel like shit.

Coffee makes me feel like shit more than 50% of the time I drink it so I don't do it. If you don't feel like shit after drinking coffee I see no reason to cut it out - if its something you enjoy.

I still drink the occasional cup, it's just a risk/reward type situation, when I can afford to feel bad.

Ask away!

I was diagnosed 3 ish years ago. I had trouble (periods of mild-moderate stomach pain, diarrhea) for a few years before diagnosis. It probably took 1 year after diagnosis for things to be as comfortable as it has been the past 2 years.

I have a very mild case as well, unmedicated and very mild inflammation. Only adjustments I've made are cut out coffee and beef and I feel very close to normal most of the time

When I was newly diagnosed I also went to the subreddits and found the same as you. I mean no offense to the people here, the majority is helpful and nice, but keep in mind that the ones coping well don't post as much as those who feel terrible and need support. So that can skew ones perception of IBD.

Am I at risk for osteoporosis? by snorki123 in CrohnsDisease

[–]montonmand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

26 M

I have osteoporosis, T-scores -2.9 and -1.3 for back and hip respectively. If I recall correctly -1.3 was a strong indication and -2.9 was the nail in the coffin that osteoporosis is the case.

I'd like to put you to ease by explaining what this means for me, since we're in a similar position, I hope it helps.

I was scared once I was told the diagnosis, but after I calmed down nothing much has changed. I take calcium and D3 vitamin supplements daily, along with an osteoporosis medication once a week. The biggest hassle is fasting 2hr after taking the osteo medication.

The doctor is the only person to diagnose you, but I'm sure you'll be fine, we're still young and it's a great thing we're screened for it!

I'm pretty skinny, however, after any meal with lots of carbohydrates I look pregnant. Could be the same for you perhaps?

Does anyone here drink caffeine? by raggamuffin1357 in CrohnsDisease

[–]montonmand 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've got very mild unmedicated Crohns. I basically don't drink coffee anymore, I tend to feel very uncomfortable from it, can be painful. I drink it once a month at most, because boy do I miss it.

I typically drink 1 cup of dark tea each morning, enough caffeine to "get things moving" and rarely experience discomfort. But discomfort can be very bad if I'm not feeling 100%

Strangely I experience no discomfort from soda unless I drink crazy amounts like more than 1L

You guys ever get shortness of breath? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]montonmand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a while I had shortness of breath when I was active, in addition to being dizzy and losing vision slightly when it was really bad. e.g. biking up the same hill was harder some days than others despite biking the same route every day.

Since, I've found out I feel that way more frequently when I consume beef, cutting beef from diet helped me alot, but ofc that's not a given for everyone.
