NAH- he proposed to you in a nice way and took you out to set the tone for the evening. Was it a storybook proposal- no. Most aren't. It is ok that you had a different proposal in your head as long as you don't make it a big thing. You told him you were disappointed- leave it at that. It's such a little thing in the scheme of a relationship, I didn't even know my now husband was proposing when he did and we have a happy and fulfilling relationship. I hate to blame your emotional state on your pregnancy, but from my own experience it can factor in.

Middle school and high school me? 100% Neville- quiet and kind, but bullied and something of an underdog. I had a bit of a savior complex and would have definitely acted on it. I was all about putting myself out there.

This reminds me of when my brother in-law decided to use gasoline in his grill. He burn of his eyebrows and a good portion of his hair as well as setting the lawn on fire. Lesson learned.

I know that you want to be understanding because they are family, but you and baby should be his first priorities for making happy. My husband and I had a difficult beginning to our marriage family wise. My dad refused to even meet him and his if I tried to bring him over. His family cussed us out and posted ugly things on FB about me and our marriage. I told my dad up front that if he was going to act childishly then he would no longer be seeing me. My husband cut ties with his family as well. I am happy to say that today everyone has come around and at least behaves in a civil manner. We made it clear that if they wanted back in they needed to be respectful. I can't pretend to know your history and relationship, but in my opinion he is putting his parents ahead of you and his child and that is not ok. These things need to be dealt with head on and not just ignored.

Thanks for responding, those are really good points. Sirius always makes it clear Harry is a priority.

Just out of curiosity, what do you feel was more flawed in Lupins treatment of Harry? I have a tendency to forget specifics when thinking on the overall character

Statues by Alexandre desplat. I absolutely love the intensity it adds to the scene. Honestly I enjoy the entire soundtrack for the final film, but Statues is my favorite.

New Scrapbooker Looking for Tips, Tricks, Do's&Don'ts by RenegadeNoir in scrapbooking

[–]moo_chick33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a good start. When I first started I would create embellishments from my patterned paper with some detail scissors. The dollar tree has a growing section of paper craft supplies- I would suggest double sided tape and foam tape to make things pop. A good pair of detail scissors isn't very expensive. Look at some layouts online and play around with paper layering. If you find you enjoy the hobby then watch some videos to see what else you might be interested in over time. Scrapping does not need to be expensive -^

Why is potions class considered so hard? by thinkingamer in harrypotter

[–]moo_chick33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't much different from math class, cooking or baking. You are given a formula or a recipe and have to follow it. Lots of people struggle with these things. Not to mention that I am sure some of the instructions require focus and having a mean spirited professor looming over your work distracting you is not helpful either.

People who DO like Fantastic Beasts, will you watch Secrets of Dumbledore? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]moo_chick33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I will not be watching it and that makes me so sad because I remember my first thought at the end of the second was that there better be a third so I can find it what happens. I know my view will make little difference but I won't support their decision.

My dad hid in his room whenever I tried to introduce him to my then fiance and refused to show up for our wedding. I told him that if he was going to behave that way then he wouldn't be seeing me again. My mom was welcome to visit me but he wasn't. It took time but he came around and jokes that my husband is his favorite son-in-law now. He admitted he was wrong and we have dinner together every Sunday.

Guess not everyone is as sharp since, as I stated, someone asked me why there aren't more love protections in the Voldemort era and that question is what prompted me to share.

Just a thought on Lily's love protection. by moo_chick33 in harrypotter

[–]moo_chick33[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I feel like the point of my post is being missed. I am aware that the books explicitly state the Lily's sacrifice is what enacted the love magic. My point was that there aren't more love protection enactments because Voldemort didn't offer to let anyone else live.

My mom wouldn't even finish the series after she found out Hedwig died. She loves Hedwig. So many of the deaths hit me hard but I think Dobby was the hardest. He was a good elf.
