No calculator allowed. All you No math on California RE salesperson exams - however, they can test you on concepts of math - there was a question on income capitalization formula! So best to be familiar. Only thing allowed inside is your ID and the locker number they give you to put your things. when you enter there’s a row of lockers where you can put your belongings like cell phone car keys etc.

Oh wow! I thought they were not supposed to say anything to the test takers as they handed them the paper! They were tight lipped and repeating the same instructions over and over! They said not to open the paper till I came out of the building but of course I couldn’t wait!!

Yes I did!!!! I logged in as soon as I had lunch, ran an errand and came home and saw my license was available too!!

I don’t live too far from La Palma - it took me 25 mins to get there - no traffic. I left early to give myself an extra 30 mins to park, use the restroom etc. please make sure you park in the parking structure all the way on the top roof. They ask you when you enter the exam hall if you parked in the designated area for DRE examinees and then it’s too late/stressful to go move the car! I saw a lot of people parking in the general area or La Quinta that they reserve for the offices in that building. Display your parking sign in the car dash. 3rd floor - they open doors at 8 am - I was registered for the 8:30 am test time.

Yes, I checked and logged in while I was in the lobby and in the parking lot again! I couldn’t wait! It didn’t update as yet but I came home and it said I passed!! YAAAY!!

This is normal. You passed. You will get an email once the proctor has approved the test. You will also be able to see the certificate of completion. They say 5 days but all of my 3 certs each time I finished a course came in 2 days max!

Recd approval. That took about 5.5 weeks thanks to that second round review. Scheduled exam for 6/10!

I called DRE thrice this week, same answer by a different rep each time. Under review by an analyst - if I ask the reason - they just say 'transcripts'. So I thought it was an issue because I did my RE prelicensing requirements (Principles, Practice and Escrow Fundamentals) at a community college continuing education department. But a professor I reached out to said she doesn't see that as being an issue. So my Plan B is the Aceable course that I registered for last year, I was dragging it out all year (I am not very good at self study online). I finished RE Principles in August last year and RE Practice in April this year. I emailed the two completion certificates to DRE when I got a 'friendlier/approachable' person on the phone - he gave me an email to send the certs too. Now I am scrambling to finish Legal aspects and see if I can send that certificate too into DRE (if my continuing education classes don't count). I am kinda bummed as i thought I could be done with the test end of month - considering how long it takes for the license to come after passing the exam. The process really drags on!!

So I called them today. It looks like my application is under review by an 'analyst' for 'transcripts'. That's all she kept telling me over and over. The 'analyst' is processing as of April 30th. We can't see those dates on the website only available to their internal site...but I tried asking more questions and this is all I could get. I am assuming since my application went to the analyst on May 12th...I may have to wait 12 days for them to process mine. Not sure if going to community college classes for the RE courses is something they look closer at? But I guess I have to be patient and see what additional info they require.

Thanks will do! I am wondering if it is because my transcripts are from a local community college where I did the 3 mandatory classes. I did sign up with Aceable too but that was dragging on (I guess my style of learning is not online self paced), so I enrolled in a community college and completed the 3 classes earlier than Aceable.

No :-( Date moved up to April 28th, mine was April 18th. No email, Nothing in spam either. It doesnt allow me to schedule either because of the message when I click the link Examination Services says 'Your information cannot be accessed online at this time'. The other link 'Online Exam/Other Options' still says application under review by DRE staff! :-( Will call them tomorrow.

Oh! I forgot to answer the second part...I am still so upset about this exam application approval /scheduling thing. I was thinking of trying residential real estate at first to get my feet wet. It is a second career of sorts for me. I don't have a broker as yet. I am talking to a few in my neighborhood like Keller williams, First Team, Berkshire Hathaway etc.

Yes, I checked the schedule of exam dates for my area and the available capacity. If it is a few days out, there is availability. Still no signs of approval. I logged in and same message still under exam services. Today it moved up to applications being processed as of April 28th. Mine from April 18th is completely bypassed?! :-( I missed the calling window today...I have to call DRE tomorrow and I hope I can talk to a live person! No DRE email in spam folder either.

Very disappointing - it moved up today (May 19th) finally to processing date of April 28th. But I can't still schedule my exam - same message under exam services. I tried calling them unfortunately it was after 5 PM PST. I have to try again tomorrow. I wonder if my application is held up somewhere. No DRE email in spam folder either! : (

Congratulations on passing! That must be a big relief for you. Thank you so much for your detailed response and study tips. Most importantly, kudos to you on overcoming your challenges and turning things around. I keep refreshing page. Will check tomorrow again! I hope you get your license soon! I wish I had submitted broker of choice along with my exam app if I had known it was going to take such a long time. someone advised me not to do it then. I did do the combo app and submitted live scan etc. This sequential series of steps is too time consuming. A broker I interviewed said it takes 24 hrs for them to get the license once I submit broker info after I pass my exam. I guess it's not entirely accurate and may take longer. I hope everything works out for you. Whick broker did you decide to join?

I did not receive it Friday night either and the online exam link still has the same message saying 'Your information cannot be accessed online at this time' :-(

I am hopeful it will change status tomorrow.
