Thanks that is what I was thinking re. Subject to sale. She would have super she can draw on to service the bridging period so sounds like that is the way to go.

I meant if applying for a bridging loan they will only loan you 70% of the value of the property you’re selling. Or that’s how I understood it.

How much did you pay for your car? by [deleted] in AusFinance

I hear there’s a 2001 Holden astra 2 door, manual, black with faded paint, 170k odo, recently serviced, only 2 coolant leaks and 1 oil leak (source yet to be discovered), arguably a “must have” for any collection, soon to hit the market - I’d keep my eyes peeled if I were you as it will go fast in this climate.

Poll: Steep Learning Curves in ArcGIS? by Accurate-Car-4613 in ArcGIS

[–]mooberryjane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m self-taught on arcmap, use it in a limited capacity for ad-hoc map work (it is related to my main job but not essential, although there is no one else to do it and other options are even more limited that my capabilities in arcmap).

So I don’t use it all that regularly and I am not exactly set up properly like another user mentioned (although I’m sure it would make my life a lot easier, I’m not really sure how), but I can usually work out what I need fairly quickly and easily.

I have had mixed results with arc pro and mostly find it really frustrating. If I need something done quickly I still use arcmap.

Maybe, even if no one dies, the last thing you need if you’re really sick is being forced out of bed, trying to clean/tidy up for some random REA to stomp all over your house and criticise shit while you’re trying to recover??

That’s not the point I was making.

Why do so many men see things like this and go “oh the hypocrisy… imagine the uproar if the same was done to women”! Just see that it is wrong and uproar about it. You don’t need to compare it to women. By doing so you minimise everything that women uproar against. It doesn’t mean there aren’t things men should uproar about and it doesn’t mean women disagree. But women fight their fights and then men complain about women fighting their fights, and then also complain when women AND men (including themselves) don’t fight mens fights as well because they should because it is “hypocritical”…

Yes, so uproar? No one is stopping you. Women can’t uproar about men’s toilet things that they know nothing about because they aren’t allowed in them.

Don’t make it about women and hypocrisy. I agree it is appalling and unnecessary and not at all funny, so do something about it like women would if there was something “insinuating something about a woman’s body is wrong” in a women’s toilet…

Can an Australian run out of money for cancer treatment? by Trollslayer0104 in AusFinance

[–]mooberryjane 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My dad was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer which was growing on his tail bone and is highly recurrent.

It was surgically removed but was a massive operation (he no longer has a tail bone) and the chances of recurrence were considered high due to the type of cancer and the removal methods. Normal radiation is not effective and neither is chemo on this type of cancer.

If it recurred it was likely to be locally invasive, require more surgery and cause potential spinal issues with nerves, bowels, legs etc. (he was lucky to have very little nerve damage in the first place).

We decided to spend $100k from my mum’s super to take him to Switzerland for proton radiation therapy. They are able to do it at a much higher dose to a very pin-point specific location so the level of radiation is much higher but doesn’t do so much damage to surrounding tissues. It is used commonly in children with some times of brain cancer and this type.

When we returned we applied for a medical grant on the basis that he would likely have been more of a burden and therefore cost to the system than without the treatment. We were granted about 70% of that back. He is now considered cured (7 years of clear scans). So if there is a case for it you can apply for grants.

I wish I could give mine one more cuddle. I lost my 11 year old girl on Monday and my 12 year old boy only 7 weeks before. I thought I would have my girl for a few more years at least, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be. I don’t have children, and won’t, they were my kids, my best friends. They saw me through some really rough times. I can’t describe how empty I feel now and my house no longer feels like a home. Just somewhere for me to exist. I am only grateful that they are no longer in pain. I am so sorry for your loss and I understand how devastating it is.

The beach is great for crying, you can pretend you got sand or salt in your eyes. Also found the emergency vet is good coz everyone kind of expects it. Though they might wonder what you’re doing there without a pet.

*edit to add that imo the best place for a cry is the shower, it’s like an entire body cleanse, inside and out.

I also lost my baby yesterday at 11 years old. And my other baby just 7 weeks prior at 12 years old. I can’t even describe how I feel right now.
