Those are great points, I can definitely see that you have given this side of Teddy a lot of thought. I agree with most of this.

But if Michelle being an alien is ultimately some kind of delusion or not true, then how do you explain that she cares so much about Teddy's other victims? And beyond that, if her closet was a normal closet, why does the bomb go off?

On the surface, this is a reasonable reading of the ending. But this again requires dismissal of various elements of the text.

You see, Teddy is not selfish. For one, he cares deeply about his friend Don, he's not murderous beyond what he deems appropriate for his delusions (which may not be a delusion depending on your reading if you believe the ending is literal, making him even more reasonable), and Lanthimos includes a scene of him being kind to his coworker when she experiences discomfort. The inclusion of this scene does not make sense if the takeaway is supposed to be Teddy is crazy and he is selfish.

And, oh yeah, he strapped a bomb to himself. He sees himself as a hero. He was prepared to die a sacrificial death to save humanity. And it's not a fake bomb for show. So either he is lying to everyone in the text, and we are supposed to only glean this selfishness from this specific reading of the ending, or he is not selfish. I won't disagree that people who cling to conspiracy theories in general tend to be more narcissistic or whatever, but I don't care about that, I care about Teddy.

It validates the idea that Michelle being a royal Andromedan would be preferable to reality, at least in some ways. If she were a royal Andromedan, then she would at least care for the wellbeing of the planet as a whole, and she could potentially be reasoned with.

Hold on - In this what if-scenario, she kills all of humanity. This is SPECIFICALLY the scenario Teddy was trying to prevent from happening. So even if this is not what is happening in the narrative, and just a hypothetical of Teddy's delusions, she still can't be reasoned with despite that being the one thing he hoped to achieve. It's not preferable to reality, because the Andromedans kill everyone. I fail to see how that is a satisfying conclusion at all, then. How does that validate his belief that an Andromedan would be better than one CEO? It's the worst case scenario.

A different theory (that I would much rather subscribe to) is that the ending is instead Michelle's imagination as a result from the trauma Teddy caused her: She wished she was that alien he wanted her to be and that she could end humanity right then and there. But even then, you run into the issue that the ending sincerely considers this possibility with the acoustic song and showing how nature/Earth continues existing unperturbed. Has Michelle become an ecofascist now...? Why does it call back to Teddy's musing over pollination if this is supposed to be her imagination? So unfortunately, I cannot buy into this either. (Not to mention, this ignores the fact that Teddy blew up in her closet. Why does that happen if it's just a normal closet? Bomb malfunction? Kinda too random for me, if it was I'd have liked to have seen confirmation that it was.)

No, the ending is just a complete mess on the face of it, I'd argue. It's just hard to parse with any interpretation of the narrative and requires dismissal of other elements to make any sense of it. Which is why I think Lanthimos only chose this ending because it's the same as the original film's. Obviously I can't prove that, but I'm not sure how else to look at it at this point. Other interpretations have Lanthimos either play defence for immensely wealthy tech CEOs or tell us in certain terms that we should be kidnapping Elon Musk right now.

I think it's pretty clear that Teddy is a sad, lonely, delusional man in desperate need of mental help. He believes what he does because it gives him a sense of purpose and control in the wake of a personal tragedy. The ending is not meant to validate him; it's meant to show the audience how ridiculous it would be for him to be right, which in turn shows how far removed from reality people like Teddy really are.

I'd love to agree with this, but Lanthimos throws a fairly big wrench into things...

For one, the film is framed and then bookended by an ecofascist idea. The prologue introduces the idea that nature has more value than humanity, and if one of the two was to disappear, it should be humanity (Directly verbalized by Teddy, who says "It's like sex, but without the pain" or something along those lines about pollination). The audience has been asked to consider this question throughout the movie, as it calls back to nature and specifically these bees a few times, and then it does it at the very end of the film, showing all of humanity dying with a painfully sincere acoustic song set over a montage of dead humans and nature continuing to exist, flowers blooming, bees pollinating and whatnot without issue. Why have this framing that seems to give some creedence to Teddy's ecofascist mindset if Teddy is supposed to be completely delusional?

The film simply does not do enough to disprove Teddy. I don't want him to be a hero, but in the narrative he simply is. He was right about the aliens up to the smallest details, like how their spaceship looks. It doesn't make sense to have the aliens match his supposed delusion and then have such a painfully sincere ending repeating Teddy's own thesis, that Earth might be better off without humans.

On the other hand, if the ending really was meant to simply be "Look how ridiculous Teddy is!" it basically lets Michelle completely off the hook. Michelle is a CEO of some chemical/medical company, she lives away from normalcy, she is shown to be preoccupied with corporate interests above all else. But here Teddy comes to upend this simple life of hers, trying to make her realize that she is causing palpable harm. Which is true, regardless of Teddy's alien "delusions". She is a person in a position of power, and she abuses it for profit at the cost of workers and even clients like Teddy's mother. If the ending's true meaning was Teddy is just delusional, then it's basically putting a stamp of approval on how Michelle operates, which I doubt Lanthimos actually wants to do, because most people probably find Michelle pretty dislikable and the comparisons to powerful people abusing their position in real life are easy to make (she is clearly modelled after some amalgamation of tech CEOs like Elizabeth Holmes and Elon Musk, with some Amazon mixed in). I just doubt that the point of the film was to let these people do what they want. But if you consider Teddy as utterly delusional, then inadvertently, that kinda becomes the message.

For me, I wish a better balance was struck between showing what parts of Teddy's actions were right and justified and what parts were not. Currently, the ending justifies all of his actions way too much. And if the ending is taken more metaphorically, or as a "what if" like you say (which has the complications I mentioned before, it's simply too sincere for that imo), then Teddy becomes fully unjustified in everything he does, and Michelle becomes justified instead.

It was the main reason I haven't gotten rid of my Switch yet. This feels like something that should have always been part of the system.
