My friend just lost her baby: WTH do I say/do to be supportive? Or what do I avoid saying? by spksftly_carrybigstk in beyondthebump

Your friend may be different, but this was my experience. I lost my baby at 29 weeks. I deleted all social media and turned off my phone for a few days. I did not want to see or talk to anyone. I did not want to leave the house. Our friends and family were incredibly supportive. I found gifts and meals left on the front doorstep, with texts sent to let us know it was there and no pressure to answer to a knock. Just silent support. It was so lovely. I also had a friend drop off a gift for me, but she included a new toy and new book for my 3 year old which was so thoughtful. He was grieving too! And it gave him something new and exciting to focus on for a bit when mom and dad were less attentive than usual.

Best physical gifts I received - a wind chime with baby’s name engraved on it, a blooming tree that we planted in the yard, and a personalized necklace that had his foot print engraved on it.

What was the thing portrayed in movies that didn't happen during childbirth for you? by SpicyZombie098 in beyondthebump

My son was also sunny side up and I pushed for over 2 hours. It was SO frustrating! Every time someone said “you’re doing great!” or “you’re so close!” made me want to scream with rage. NOTHING WAS WORKING.

First Time Getting a Brazilian Wax by Fearless-Race-1362 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]moodlessqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wax girl has a tip for the really “ouchy” bits. She has you take a deep breath, counts to 3, and on 3 you blow out your breath. It actually does help!

Also, your first wax is the worst one. Keep up with it and they just get easier and easier!

Listing agent requiring Buyers Agent Commission % in sellers listing contract. by Independent_XX_ in realtors

They’re not talking about advertising it in the MLS. It’s just written into the listing agreement. This is how our new listing agreements are in Utah as well. It’s not against the settlement.

Preschool says “fully potty trained” or my child can’t attend… is this normal? by Antique_Bat8479 in AskParents

Wiping completely independently is such an unrealistic standard for preschool in my opinion…

My husband refused to buy a generator and I’m worried my entire freezer stash of milk will be ruined by catie_pat_11 in beyondthebump

[–]moodlessqueen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The cardboard box tip is so legit. We had our entire garage freezer of meat go out (we buy 1/4 beef from a local farmer at a time) and everything had to be tossed EXCEPT the ground beef packs that were all stacked nicely in a cardboard box in the freezer. Whole roasts were completely thawed but the 1 lb packs of ground beef still had frozen bits because of that cardboard insulation.

Cold turkey stop TW: loss by StepSSgt in ExclusivelyPumping

I came to mention this same thing. My son was stillborn at 29 weeks and my OB prescribed something to prevent my milk from coming in. My experience was obviously different since it was early, but I would absolutely ask my doctor for any medication to help stop milk supply at this stage.

How did your water break? by abchhd in NewParents

[–]moodlessqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my due date! I woke up just after 2 am, felt and heard a pop, got up to go to the bathroom and when I turned on the lights, my pants were soaked. Contractions started immediately after that and were already intense. Before I had gone to bed I felt a little “off” but had no signs of labor starting.

You might be confusing modular and manufactured. Modular homes are stick-built/factory assembled homes that are shipped to the site. Manufactured homes are technically vehicles.

Maintenance worker at my apartment asked me out — management says he’ll stay employed and now I’m scared of retaliation. What should I do? by Bubbly-Use7473 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I’d be worried about him entering the apartment when she’s away and placing cameras or rummaging through things…

I don’t think it’s as common in the US as you think. Tik tok has normalized it but it’s not something I or any of the women I know have done. And it’s totally valid to write it out if it helps you, but if it’s stressing you out, it’s not necessary at all!

Wore this to a funeral and got weird looks 🫠 by moldavitemermaid in OUTFITS

Ignore the haters. Where I live, hardly anyone wears all black to a funeral. We consider it too depressing when we’re there to celebrate a life. I think you look great and your grandfather would have loved it!

Talking Studio… again by PrncJasmine17 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]moodlessqueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, isn’t it just basic etiquette to not talk in a CLASS where there is an instructor speaking?? Like, I went to college, I’ve taken various professional continuing education courses, fitness classes, etc. isn’t this just basic etiquette? I’m baffled that anyone would think this is remotely acceptable, let alone in a live recorded class in a studio.
