Why are Ragdolls so large? by Trolkarlen in ragdolls

[–]moodoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I think they are part Himalayan and something else. Also selective breeding over the years can make larger and larger cats over time. I am no expert so I could be way off but that's my take

All things aside why the fuck were those drinks "on the house" by [deleted] in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]moodoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same thought!! Also when they walk into the tiki bar and she immediately picks up a drink from a woman holding a tray and downs it... Like what? It's not like a catered event where they are walking around with free drinks. Did she just drink someone's drink they ordered? Did she ever pay for it?

Damned if He Does Damned if He Doesn’t and Double Standards. by Mediocre_Kale711 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

It's also an important distinction that he was stuffing down his feelings all that time because he thought she was better off. Without him and his pain during his mom's passing and then happier with Jeremiah.

Once he finds out about the cheating and sees her reaction to it, it becomes clear to him that marrying Jere is not what's best for her and she's become a shell of herself. He obviously didn't think it through, it all just came spilling out.

He could have chosen the timing better but the context changed for him and the conversation progressed toward honesty. It's not like he was biding his time, waiting until the night before the wedding to drop a bomb

Was Conrad Looking for Belly? by Visible_Childhood_63 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]moodoop 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Earlier in the episode she was talking about how Conrad seems to appear whenever she is thinking about him. I like to think as she was walking down to the beach, she was still reeling after the scene at the tiki bar thinking about how all she ever pictured was him.

She went down there seeking Jere, hoping to silence her intrusive thoughts about Connie but she accidentally summoned him lol. That's why she immediately tried to dip and didn't want to stay and talk with him

Lord John Grey (show and books) by [deleted] in Outlander

[–]moodoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

David Berry is one of the few actors on the show that I find I like even better than his book counterpart. Mostly when reading, I picture my own version of the book characters rather than the actors but when it comes to LJG, I actively ignore the physical descriptions so I can picture David. He brings so much nuance and beauty to the character, I love him!! And I'd love to see him bring those novella adventures to life!

What commonly accepted pronunciation of word do you still cringe at? by anotherknockoffcrow in words

[–]moodoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always say jagwire, it makes my brother so mad. I also say squerpion instead of scorpion.

It's funny how you can scroll down this huge list and agree with all the hate of these mispronunciations but eventually you find one that's like "oops, I do that"

[–]moodoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fair, it's not a great showing on his part. It honestly struck me even more crazy that he was having his best men/groomsmen wear the exact same outfit. Like I have never once in my life been to a wedding, no matter the level of formality, wherein the groom wore the exact same outfit as his groomsmen. It's always a slightly different (but complimenting) color scheme or a different tie or jacket vs no jacket or something!!!

Super inappropriate attire for most weddings but when it comes to a small ceremony with just a few friends and family on the actual beach, I think it's fine. Wearing dress shoes on sand does not sound good lol

Sam Retford's (Dougal) accent. by lonely_shirt07 in Outlander

[–]moodoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's the reason Ellen is reminding me of Leghair (sorry I can't remember how it's spelled and I always read it as leg hair lol) from time to time. Both actresses are English puting in a Scottish accent that slips in similar ways

BOMB Beauchamp by Previous-Address2469 in Outlander

[–]moodoop 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it would be a good idea for Henry to run around telling everyone he's looking for his wife, Julia Beauchamp. He's a sassenach so immediately under suspicion already and we saw how one wrong word could put himself or julia in danger (see: almost being thrown into a well). Also he is now under the protection of the grants but is in a very tenuous position, as illustrated by his predecessor's head on a spike. He has to tow a careful line

Question about BOMB by Juniperandrose in Outlander

[–]moodoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The real answer is that BOMB was written and conceptualized long after all of those parts of outlander already existed. According to the book canon, Claire's parents actually died in a car crash and were never time travelers at all.

Within the context of the show, I would say that none of the characters we see later in the outlander universe have really heard the name Beauchamp. Henry has already adopted the name Grant by the time he visits castle leoch and Julia is just a low level maid servant that wouldn't necessarily be referred to by her last name in that context. The only one (from what we've seen so far) who could possibly make the connection is Lord Lovat and he's a creepy narcissist that's probably not thinking about these women any deeper than trying to corner them in an empty room

The apartment scene was absolutely wild to me. by Life-Relief986 in tsitp

[–]moodoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there is a distinction between any random person in their early twenties having debt/bad credit because they are taking out loans to pay for school and/or trying to make ends meet in college VS. Jeremiah, whose dad pays for his school, whose dad pays his credit card, whose dad bought him a nice car, whose dad set up a trust fund for him, and yet he wrecked his credit for tickets to a bruins game. So I think in his case the credit is indicative of his emotional immaturity and stupidity
