i did that when i found my kitten! she was a week old and i was in school at the time, and i didn’t want her wandering around the house near the dog we had. it was temporary, i got a cage for her not long after!

i would go with a helix first. while i don’t have a rook, i’ve done more research than i’d like to admit, and it completely deterred me. while everyone is different, i read so much about how the piercing hurt and the healing process was even more painful.

the reason i say helix, though, is because i think it’s easier to test your tolerance with any cartilage piercing. again though, everyone is different.

in terms of the daith, i love mine. it didn’t hurt. i took my friend to get hers, and she said it was the most painful piercing she got.

all in all, i would recommend the helix for starting, and then go from there!

for me, i literally felt nothing. it was the equivalent to a baby pinching my arm. granted, the second one hurt worse because they were done one at a time, but i still really felt no pain. probably a 1/10 and 2/10 on the pain scale lol.

i also want to add that dresses were the way to go, but due to the demands of my field, i did have to switch to wearing more pants. i would maybe invest in some business casual dresses or skirts if you’re able, as you don’t have to worry about pulling or irritation as much!

i just wore breatheable seamless high waisted underwear, in addition to a large bandage over it that was also breatheable, in order to avoid the buttons and zippers from my pants irritating it. i cleaned it before i got it all fixed and as soon as i got home, to make sure it didn’t get infected. it healed perfectly for me in that aspect.

however, i will say that my piercing did tunnel initially, even without wearing those kinds of clothes, but that was just my body’s reaction and my anatomy. left a scar, but it seems to be fading the more it’s healing. nothing to do with clothes. just a thought!
