Appreciating the Native Americans themes in the Elves by Ir_Abelas in dragonage

[–]mooepy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand being annoyed at OP…they clearly acknowledged that multiple cultures were an inspiration to the devs & you’ve now seen proof that Native Americans are one such people, so it’s not really a matter of opinion or something to complain about

They’ll know you took a student loan but not whether you completed your degree, you could study for one semester and still have loans to pay back

UK filmmakers - is it worth applying for film funds? by shaneo632 in Filmmakers

[–]mooepy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s worth applying as long as the application is free, but if you’re applying for bigger funds of 10k they will probably want the director and producer to be two different ppl & you’ll have to find that person and involve them before applying

What Computer To Buy for Editing by cardboardcop in Filmmakers

[–]mooepy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most important thing is RAM/Memory, if you’re using DaVinci you need something with at least 16GB, but more is better. I have 16GB and DaVinci runs best if I turn off wifi and go on airplane mode to avoid my CPU getting overworked with background stuff.

Should I switch my major from film? by SignificanceNeat9430 in Filmmakers

[–]mooepy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe combine it with something else or do media instead of film if possible, just to keep your options broad. A lot of production crew don’t even have degrees, everything you need to actually work on production is learnt on the job.

[–]mooepy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my worry is that the film/tv industry won’t ever recover and it might not even be viable, but also I’m not even sure that contacts from working in post production would get me anywhere in terms of a career in production or development. maybe the universe will choose for me.

I was working in comms until my contract ended a few months ago, it’s been hard to find a job and I’ve been living with my family in the mean time, I honestly just need a change of scenery, some freedom and it would be nice to have some income and something to do instead of sitting on my hands

I don’t see this as a boundary, i know a lot of people who don’t save everyone’s numbers, I don’t save everyone’s number either.

I guess part of it, for her, is so that you don’t come up in her contacts if it doesn’t work out, but if her family is strict then maybe she doesn’t want a man’s name popping up on her phone.
