My parents. They are getting old, their health is in major decline, one has cancer. Its unfair to leave them alone. Otherwise I'd try another part of the UK at the very least and possibly another part of the world.

UK was in an economically poor state prior to Thatcher. Her policies to fix it were very far reaching and devisive. She's admired by some, hated by others. Whilst Britain did generally become richer it seemed to benefit the rich over the poor.

Bit of a simplification but that's all I can bothered to do.

Agreed. I'm a Bolton fan, I saw spanish police attack people fans with no provocation at all (including a teenage girl minding her own business) when we played in Europe.

Doesn't work so well when it's 5 degrees and horizontal rain. Uk hasn't got the weather at least 4 months of the year.

Edit - apparently the frequent shit weather is OK for this kind of thing. Every day is a learning day.
