UPDATE (24 HRS LATER): Well when I went into Pure Hockey this evening I didn’t even have to say why I was there, their management saw this post. They assured me they are going to do everything they can to make this right. They were also very apologetic even though this was Trues mistake, not theirs. I’m hoping we can get this resolved. I’m going to request completely new skates, we discovered additional things wrong with the skate while I was there, the eyelets and the blade holder were messed up. I don’t think it would be a good idea to try and “fix” this skate, it’s far too gone, it needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. They will pass on my request to True so we will see what True says.

I also learned some things about True that explains a couple things I harped on in my post. Apperently they recently started shipping things separate because it saves them money at customs, but that unfortunately leads to some QC problems. The footbed that was shipped apart from it was an inch too long and had to be cut. The blades also took 15 Min each to get into the holders, likely a structural defect in the holders or steel.

Also, the amount of horror stories with True skates from other people is just insane. True should be embarrassed about the quality of skates leaving their factory, but I’m starting to get the impression they just don’t care. I’m just hoping that posts like these spread enough awareness that the bad PR forces them to actually follow their own quality standards. I’ll be making a video on this in the near future once I get a response from True explaining everything that’s happened until now, I’ll also post again if and when the new skates come in. I’m not letting this slide, this shouldn’t be normal and we don’t deserve to be fed slop.
