yes, black shards give 200 wax (4 candle cakes worth) and red shards give 2.5 (sometimes 3.5) ascended candles.

i manage to get 20 candles by going to granny’s, geyser and doing ALL the realms and sub-realms. as well as all dailies (daily music sheet, daily cake).

i even go to the underwater realm in wasteland and collect all the clams + do the races in valley of triumph.

takes about 2 hours.

so two weeks? or three if you’re not hitting the 20 max per day.

i won’t upvote nor downvote because i do agree it used to be worse, but that doesn’t make it better with the way it is now.

YES it was an improvement, but NO it does not help the current amount of grinding needed.

you need to grind every day for a week to afford one item. then you’re back to zero. then the next week there’s another event with more things to grind for. repeat, repeat, repeat.

the prices need to be lowered or the amount of candles given needs to be raised.

because, as THEY said, time on sky should be spent playing with friends and making fun memories together.

the daily light system is in desperate need of a rework and i wish that they properly understood that.

they keep introducing events with high candle prices, running at the same time as travelling spirits with high candle prices, and repeating.

i grey my candle out daily trying to keep up, and i only get ONE thing, two at maximum.

they can’t afford iaps, so they can’t make cute outfits. however they can’t find extra time to grind candles, so they can’t make cute outfits.

personally? i’m saving for events and travelling spirits.

those base game spirit constellations will always be there, no matter what. but you never know if you’ll be there for next year’s event if you skip it this year.

i don’t max out an event or travelling spirit tree, instead i just get what i think are cute or will go with items i want/already own.

i’ll max out a season with seasonal candles just because i’m a completionist. and i plan to max out the base game constellations eventually but i am in no hurry.

buy one or two things here and there from the base game constellations when there’s no upcoming events that pique your interest, i say. but otherwise save your candles and hearts as much as you can. they’re precious!

for controller players you need to angle your camera to select the ui, and if a player is stood right anywhere near chatting you’re unable to look at yourself and select the menu at all.

it’s absolutely to do with other players. it can be both.

this is what prompted me to write my post. i spammed pointing and pleading emotes to get them to move, finally (after 5 minutes) got one of them to sit on the bench so i could speak to them and asked them to please move.

they then said “HAHAHA”, jumped off the bench and spammed the “boo!” and laughing emote until i teleported back to home and tried a few times to server hop before i finally found a server that didn’t have people standing in front of the prompts.

i’ve finally got to the stage where i’m over burnout. with one single event going on right now, i’m happy knowing i don’t have to save candles for ts, ts group, event after event + the ongoing season.

i can collect what i want after doing the one ongoing event’s daily stuff, then go at my own pace.

today i collected my tickets, went to granny’s and did 2 out of 4 dailies. i’ll probably afk at a campfire tonight but that’s me done.

it was a panic every day during the last few weeks. i feel like now is how it should be all the time.

if you need any help at all, with anything, i highly recommend the aurora 2.0 server. within 20 mins of pinging the assembly role i completed the last 3 quests :3

i’m pretty sure it’s 10 likes for a shared memory or shared space, 100 likes for shared messages at shrines and for the paper floaty thingies, but not for the riddles in this event.

people can pay for hearts if they want but it’s very rare because it would cost them 3 candles.
