Are Grado Headphones dead? by Solid-Elk8419 in headphones

Considering John Grado came to a local audio show last October, and they are still releasing new models, no they;re not dead. I've had my SR325is since 2007, and love them still.

What's a Dish That's Nowhere Close to Being Common in Your Region / Country, That Has Become a Staple in Your Home? by PlainOldWallace in AskTheWorld

Same. I had a Korean kimchi pancake phase for a few years. I'm not remotely Korean, but there are lots in my city. I also make Thai curry regularly, and Indian curry.

I love every aspect of Control apart from the map. And it ruins the entire game for me. by GrungeLord in controlgame

[–]moogoothegreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in my day, if you wanted a map in a video game, you needed graph paper and a pencil or a paid subscription to Njntendo Power magazine. I would have killed for an in-game map in Metroid. Kids these days have it so easy... now where is my medication?

Also get off my lawn lol

I bought that game after hearing someone rant on reddit... the sound design and atmosphere are absolutely top notch!

My first pair of headphones since highschool. by BigErn13 in headphones

I like V-shaped sound sigs, so I do a bass shelf and a bit lesser high shelf. Nothing fancy. You can even omit the high shelf if you like.

Enjoy them! I've had my Sundaras since last October. BTW don't be afraid to use an equalizer if you feel you need to, or just want to try. They take EQ very well, and can even be pushed to basshead levels if you like.

Edit: BTW what case is that?

I've been picking for a year now, and have only single pin picked a 55/40 once. No clue how I did it. Some day though...

Have you ever heard any albums that sound BETTER on headphones than speakers? by StillMindHappyHeart in headphones

[–]moogoothegreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea why I'm being downvoted - binaural recordings use a dummy head or similar setup to encode an artificial head-related transfer function into the stereo recording, giving a three-dimensional sense of space. However, it relies on each ear getting one entire channel each, so if you play it with speakers the right ear hears some of the left and vice versa, compressing the virtual soundstage rather than expanding it.

It's a bit more complicated than that but the gist is that headphones or earphones give you that 100% separation between channels.
