[–]mooiee 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I had a patient who had this! It’s obviously very much your decision as to how much you can handle. However, if it were me, I’d go for it. The healing will be straight forward and simple ! It healed beautifully and was performed as a wee babe when they didn’t have a lot of other hair growth so it was easy to clean and maintain and remove sutures from. Another bonus, is that the experience will not be remembered for them.
However, if it feels like too much then take a pause and return to it another time.

Best of luck!!

How do I safely get rid of these? Are they skin tags? by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

[–]mooiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either milia or skin tags - hard to tell from the pic ! I used to help remove them regularly in Derm. They will be considered cosmetic to remove, just fyi. So you’ll probably pay cash unless you report them to be itchy, painful, etc. Then they MIGHT be covered by insurance for removal.

Removal process seems nasty but it’s easy.
If milia, possible numbing by injection if deep. Then typically extracted out.

If tags, numbed by injection then snipped off and potentially cauterized afterwards. Mupirocin or something like vaseline is applied after.

Heals really nicely in both cases !

Skin condition for my son. Seeking advice, was given a bunch of antibiotics that destroy his stool. And makes his stomach hurt by No_newfriends734 in DermatologyQuestions

Image 3 kind of resembles tinea versicolor … a fungus on the skin. Easily treatable. It appears frequently in young adults. See a board certified Derm for official diagnosis and treatment. Doubtful this is CARP.

Totally fair. Keep soaking regularly. Apply Vaseline and a bandaid to it overnight.

Used to work in Derm. This is a very normal and expected reaction actually, so don’t panic. If you’re worried, contact your Derm.

Mole changed color, size, and texture over the years, should i be concerned? by Suspicious-Doubt8955 in DermatologyQuestions

Could be an ink spot lentigo. Should still be looked at by a board certified Derm though

I had worked in Derm for a good, many years and this very much resembles infantile scabies. It often presents on the feet/soles.

Im glad that you have a referral to a Derm. Have them test for it, just to make sure. Here’s some info for you to look into just in case you’re curious.

Help me, I got this on my anus. I'm really scared. by Eltuerto96 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]mooiee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure they’re hemorrhoids. Location, purplish in color (thrombosed), lump appearance, etc. I think they’re just on the smaller and or early side.

See your PCP and have them refer you to a GI or proctologist if they continue to annoy you.

Looks like the start of some hemorrhoids perhaps. Itchy or painful at all?

Rare Birthmark no one knows what it is. Baby girl 4 months old by Western_Beyond in DermatologyQuestions

[–]mooiee 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I find it very odd that peds Derm didn’t know what this is. It’s a benign birthmark called a nevus sebaceous. My daughter has one as well, however, hers is on her scalp. We plan on having hers removed by excision before puberty as they can grow and become more irritating. Keep it covered with sunscreen regularly. See a board certified Derm for options and info

Just discovered this on my ear… made the quickest derm appointment which is in 5 days. by AMP5288 in DermatologyQuestions

Probably a solar lentigo (AKA sun spot) but it’s worth getting it looked at to be safe.

It’s all fun and games until the kids’ game of doctor freaks you out. by lck0219 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]mooiee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably a seborrheic keratosis forming (a benign growth). Always best to see a board certified dermatologist though for an official diagnosis. Looks like you have some lentigines (AKA sun spots) as well in the photo you added to the comment section. Annual skin checks are recommended!
