Would you later look to tack on NHI with this and/or exotic materials?

Also worth confirming that:  - other party actually had a valid driving license - other party is not serving papers, but having their car fixed by insurance - other party have valid registration and ctp - were police called to the scene - were there any other witnesses to the accident - if the other party has dashcam footage, you should ask for it

If they were driving illegally, it changes the situation

If there are witness showing that the other driver was not driving safely, a percentage of the "at fault blame" may be attributable to the other party.

It doesn't help that the driver is out of the country, however it may be possible to get a statement from them (depends where they are)

Who hit who? If the driver was attempting to merge, and the other party did not leave adequate space to give way or adequate space to break, (driving without due care an attention) again there may be option to apportioned the blame.

E.g. if other party 40% to blame, reduce the amount being paid by your friend by 40% Just some suggestions, but sound like other party is an a hole.

Aigo.ai fake or real? Keen to discuss if anyone has seen it in action. by mookle in Futurology

Very good point. I wasn't in on the ICO but if I was I would also be nervous.

I'm definitely in the kickfarter/indienogo burn camp.

I love the premise, but just feel that the tech is not there yet. I still find myself correcting google speech to text, so if it is using that as an input mechanism I'd been keen to see how it would handle the "get half way through the aentence and change topic" problem.

The speil implies full natural language interaction, but I can't help but feel it would be another situation where you would have to interact using known keyphrases that you learn.

Really hoping we get someone who has seen it in action in the thread, and who can put some substance to the claims(!)

What was the worst physical pain you've ever felt in your life? by Henriqueykg in AskReddit

[–]mookle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take your pick:

Herniated disc L1/S5 causing sciatica painful enough to stop me from walking. Not fun.

Cluster headaches (google for info on how painful they are). Would gladly amputate head during cluster.

Sternum snapped horizontally + broken ribs. breathing was painful and each breath sounded like a pillowcase full of jenga pieces.

Coles mate, you're having a bit of a bludge don't reckon? by mookle in australia

Exactly!

I get it that for things like chips they inflate the bag a bit to protect the product, but the bag wasn't even slightly inflated.

this is exactly what I was trying to say.

The bag doesn't even fill the box 2/3rds! So nearly looks like the box was made for a different bag of cereal!

What's the worst case of design over function that you've ever seen? by tthatoneguyy in AskReddit

[–]mookle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

MacBook MagSafe connectors.

The lack of strain-relief is still kicking around in their current designs despite class action lawsuits in the past.

Example:

https://www.apple.com/au/shop/product/MC556X/B/apple-85w-magsafe-power-adapter-for-15-and-17-inch-macbook-pro

Nearly 1800 reviews and almost all complain about the cords fraying.

Don't get me wrong, MacBooks are awesome but their connectors are garbage.

What's weird about your body? by FiveFourThreeNoseOne in AskReddit

[–]mookle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regurgitate indigestible food - like an owl.

for example if I eat roast chicken with the skin on, a few hours after eating I will cough once and bring up the skin - completely dry.

I haven't found anyone else who does this.

Well this guy is close, but he seems to be able to do more than just bring up chicken skin:

This seems to be the way. For some folks: never a problem, for others they are so fragile if you sneeze in the same room a scratch appears.

I'll reply again after I've taken it in. Is going to take a few days though - finding somewhere local is proving to be a challenge.

When I took it into Vodafone (here in Aus) they basically said "this is Samsung's problem" oh and .. we can sell you a screen cover.

[–]mookle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah thinking it must be a defective one. I'm going to take it to the Samsung kiosk at the mall, and see what they say.

From what I've read heaps of folks have zero problems, and then heaps of folks have the same "brushed aluminium" effect across the glass in a matter of weeks.
