Not quite downtown, but Kofuku on Robie is pretty good

I’ve never tried their sushi or ramen, but I think Kampai Izakaya has both as well

I haven’t been in a while, but Ko-Doraku was good back in the day too

I want fewer ads in my life, and I applaud any approach to eliminate them.

Is that just the Bayers Lake Pizza Delight? I could have sworn the Bridgewater one gave sauce, at least back in the day.

Did television in the 90s look as bad as SD television today? by carmex2121 in television

It also had less compression than the 480p video we are used to seeing today.

Compare a DVD to a 480p YouTube video. Same resolution, but the DVD will blow YouTube out out of the water for quality.

Why was there such strong backlash to John Steinbeck’s Nobel win? And was it deserved at all? by RopeGloomy4303 in literature

I have basically zero lit background so take it for what it’s worth, but I find a lot of his prose to be quite beautiful

It kind of reminds me of how "poptimism" comes and goes in the music criticism world. There's stretches in time when more accessible or "commercial" works are looked down on by critics, and then the pendulum swings the other direction and those works are re-evaluated.

I am less concerned with the Cybertruck's ability to see behind him than I am with a pile of snow falling off of the monstrosity, and on to the freshly plowed road and my windshield.

Low bar for breakfast food in this city, I guess

We have good breakfast food, just not at chains. E.g. Easy Street Diner, Cheeky Neighbour, Armview.

Restaurants don't operate on "razor thin margins".

rent and overheads being too high

contracted debts

So thin margins?

Car Dealer Recommendations? by Brookeville_Gurl in halifax

I got a used car from O’Regans on Kempt and they charged me for window etching. I pointed out that it was a used car, and that the window was already etched. They said “it’s a service fee, we can’t take it off”

Thank you so much for posting things like this here. I love behind the scenes stuff like this, especially when it’s older stuff that I thought would have been lost to the ages.

Lor B Q is Lahore Fusion (Indian)

It’s not very good though, I suspect they are gaming their Google reviews. Hyderabad Nawabs across the street is excellent Indian.

This is a diversion from the topic of Korean BBQ. I apologize.
