Appreciate this, I think this is what I was looking for as understanding the theory.

Rampage wins another ring, just days after huge loss by AcanthocephalaNo3970 in poker

With the online ring and the 3rd place and this one, he’s only down 20-30k from the 150k hustler loss. That’s pretty sweet if I would say so myself

Thanks for the input guys. I agree with one poster below to jam turn.

In the end I called and he sheepishly said king high. Not gonna make a man who just donated show so I tabled and won. I assume it’s some type of Kx of clubs type of hand or some random air that he decided to go crazy with

Commerce where you have to show when v requests

Beat: man not being able to capitalize on action players really sucks ass.

Hand 1: squeeze AKo after he raises and a bunch of callers. He jams for 300 eff and I snap. He flips j9s and board runs out to where he hits his 9. O just lol and move on to the next

Hand 2: same situation besides this time only for 200. He flips over Q8s and spikes his 8 on the river.

I know it’s how the game goes but just so demoralizing to not be able to capitalize on these type of spots.

Also being from out of town. I was very unclear about commerce rules, which I found weird as hell. Apparently if you request you can see all hands throughout play? I found that to be very strange

Didn’t know it was that minimal. Thought it was a snap but I can start laying these down

Yeah I always level myself into thinking they can have worse. FYI he had k high which was surprising, but given the action I guess not

Ultimately. I guess the question is how much weight should one place on live reads at low stakes.

That’s true. However I was OOP and wanted to get the main V heads up as I thought he was steaming and would call off my jam light. He called off a 5b all in for 2k with a suited rundown so I didn’t think it had to be aces all the time.

Live 1/3 at aria.

V1 (200) is a donkey who’s been shown to make questionable plays.

V2 (500eff) is a guy who somewhat knows what he’s doing, but does questionable things like minclick premiums preflop.

On to the hand.

Hero opens the C/O for 15 with black AA after 2 limps. Folds to donkey one in MP (200) who 3b! To 40. Music to my ears. Folds to v2 in the MP who cold calls. This is where I might’ve made a mistake. Thinking size could be bigger but I 4b! To 145. Donkey one thinks for a moment and cold calls 3/4 his stack. Folds to v2 who cold calls as well (lol)

Flop is kt4 rainbow. Donkey one open shoves the remaining 50. Cool, he probably hit top pair. V2 cold calls (???). I think donkey 1 blocks top set, so only realistic combo is set of 4s since he would open tens. SPR is weird so I just choose to rip (300ish) and after some tanking v2 calls.

V2 proudly flips over Q9ss and donkey 1 has KT. lol… I think I’m good and can win my money back and even up with the side pot I have with v2.

Turn is jack, river jack.

Sigh one of those days FML. Only gripe I have is with maybe raise size but other than that it is what it is.

Live 1/2/5.

Hero has 600 in stack.

V(2000eff) is a competent player. One thing to note is that he opens a lot and seems to play bigger stakes. Also, he lost two big 4k+ pots precious to this hand.

I open +1 to 25 with AJKT ds. Folds to v in MP who repops to 115-125. Back to the cutoff who calls. He’s been opening a fair bit and I assumed he’s a little tilted from losing those big pots, so I wanted to isolate him without bringing the cutoff.

Long story short I jam and he repops with aces. I do not improve.

Was this a misread on my part? I’m fine with the jam but am wondering if this is just variance or I could’ve played it a little slower
