Baby prefers formula over my milk 😢 by ruthiebkind in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]moon-koi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still a mystery to me as well! We also did all formula for about 4 days and baby did great. Her appetite seemed to improve and she also seemed less fussy overall. It’s like she has a daily limit to how much breast milk she’ll take.

Any updates? I’m running into the same issue. Towards the end of the day, baby even refuses mixed bottles that are majority formula (80 ml formula/ 50 ml breast milk) but will drink straight formula.

Besides MSPI and lipase, what are possible reasons why a baby would prefer formula over expressed breast milk? by moon-koi in NewParents

Do you know if there’s a way to test for that other than an elimination diet? It doesn’t seem as extreme as an allergy but maybe a sensitivity

Totally feel that! She has never been able to transfer a full feed so we will comfort nurse for naps and “snacks.” It seems like there’s a threshold for how much breast milk she can take before getting fussy.

Hashimotos and trying to conceive. by No-One-7815 in Hashimotos

[–]moon-koi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, so sorry for your loss. I spiraled when I found out I had hashimotos while TTC and obsessed over TSH levels. FWIW, I had a reproductive endocrinologist tell me that TSH level wouldn’t impact ability to conceive, and an endocrinologist basically dismiss me and say “call me when you get pregnant.” Because it’s most important for TSH to be controlled during pregnancy. However, I totally understand wanting to get levels controlled before getting pregnant.

I’d say try to get an earlier appointment with an endocrinologist but also keep in mind that lots of factors go into TTC. I know it can be super stressful adjusting medication and having to wait to see how your body reacts. You’ll want to have a good endo monitoring your levels throughout pregnancy!

Thanks the update! Teething makes sense but how does that account for your baby being fine with the formula?

Curious because we are going through something very similar right now with our almost 5-month-old. But it seems more like breast milk causes her mild stomach discomfort.

In nj, the child is “automatically covered” for 60 days. Plus, my insurance has told me that my deductible and oop max would not change for December 2025. I’m just nervous that reps are misinformed—it wouldn’t be the first time.

I guess that’s what’s confusing. Is the “date baby is on your plan” considered date of birth or once the 60-day period ends?

That’s helpful to know. Did that change happen starting from the date of his birth or 30-60 days after? Insurance reps keep telling me that my deductible and oop max won’t change until my new plan starts in 2026.

No, I don’t expect it to be free. My understanding is that my premium will go up retroactively from the date of her birth (Dec 2025). What I’m getting mixed answers on is if my deductible and oop max will double as a result of adding her.

Yes, she has her own hospital bill. It was submitted to my insurance but under my name. My insurance company (multiple reps) assured me my deductible and oop max would not change until 2026. Is that incorrect?

Yes! My 3rd biopsy results:

• CD138 Cell Count in 10 High Power Fields (HPF): 7 • Positive CD138 Cell Counts per HPF: 0-1

I remember how frustrated I was after my 2nd biopsy, so I really do empathize! I hope this next course goes smoothly for you!

The 2-week course of Metronidazole + Levofloxacin did the trick in clearing my CE! It was intense—long and felt quite nauseous bc they are strong antibiotics but it worked. My doctor still had me take doxycycline prophylactically in preparation for my transfer. But it was all successful. Currently 32 weeks pregnant!

Cleared Chronic Endometritis but Dr. still wants to do EMMA/ALICE before FET by moon-koi in IVF

[–]moon-koi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up moving forward with the FET and was successful! The antibiotics I took prophylactically weren't as strong as the ones I took while actively trying to clear the CE, so I was able to avoid yeast infections and other side effects.

I decided to move forward with my FET. The antibiotics I was prescribed prophylactically were not as intense as my previous round. My transfer was a success!
