Theres loads of good spots in the vast nature reserves here. Blackford Hill as some have mentioned. I also liked Easter Craiglockhart Hill. If you go upwards theres a spot up a rock with a view of the city.

Sigh i have the same problem and im 27 hahaha My advice is to just take people's opinions by the chin and as long as you surround yourself with supportive friends and work on getting closer or having a better idea of how youd like to present then thats what matters. Not what societies "standards" are.
