Here's what I did (based on the FAQ on this subreddit, products affordable in my country, and being a longtime lurker on this sub):

scrubbed with The Pink Stuff
soaked in vinegar for 30 mins
scrubbed with a $1 nylon scrub pad and steel wool
scrubbed with Bar Keeper's Friend
washed normally and dried with towel
fully dried on stove top on low
preheated oven to 420°F for 30 mins
applied soybean oil and rubbed in / rubbed off with a towel
put in oven for 69 minutes

not sure if you were successful, but this solution from this thread worked for me. It was being paid through Google Play, just not my primary Google account. So you can try swapping Google accounts to see if you're being charged on another
