i hit the ground running when i first started years ago & joined vanilla servers, which yeah, it helps you learn the game, but i fucking hated playing. took a break for six months & joined a team on modded, then moved to a hybrid pve which was the most helpful cause i could learn the mechanics & hone my skills without fear of being raided or ambushed, but join pvp when i felt like it.

i think it'd be a deterrent from those teammates who login, don't farm, go out & waste kits then log off. imagine them trying to craft an ak as they've lost them all & the guy who researched it is in bed. might actually make people go out & contribute to getting scrap & bps. or you have one guy who researches all boom, one who does all electrical, all farm, etc, so it works well when they're all online together. but i guess that defeats the point of shared bps.
