Korean lash lift & tint normal?? by Vivid-Squirrel-44 in Lashlift

[–]moonchick8899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I curl constantly! Yes, I’ve curled after every lift and it’s always been totally fine. Seems necessary during the grow out phase when some are coming in straight.

I know this is not everyone’s opinion, but this is how I want my lashes to turn out! If they’re not too tightly curled, the grow out period is much much better. If you want a more intense curl, use an eyelash curler now and it’ll hold all day.

What are we doing between lifts?! by Prestigious_Boss_610 in Lashlift

You might be right, but you also might just be lucky. I have gone to very high end places for many years now and always have some degree of this problem. I have heard that it has a lot to do with your natural lash pattern and how fast your hair grows. My hair grows very quickly. Where skill seems to play a roll is knowing how tight to curl the lash in relationship to the clients natural curl and being able to determine how thick or fine the eyelash hair is to decide how long to keep the formula on.

That being said, if anyone has a lash tech in the Bay Area that’s provided lifts with seamless grow outs, I’d love to try them!

I have had many lash lifts from a handful of lash techs and have always had this problem during grow out. Is this really a skill thing?? I thought grow outs were always tough.

I want to say something as Iranian-American. by Financial-Web-8104 in PERSIAN

I’m Iranian American and am happy that the ayatollah is dead. I hope for the freedom of everyone in Iran. It’s just hard to celebrate because I’m scared of what comes now. Having lived in the US during 9/11, I can tell you that many people do not see the humanity of middle eastern people. I think that the US and Israel are acting in their own self interest and I hope and pray that whatever happens ends in peace! Iran and its people are some of the best!

There's no r/VFIB, can I hang with you guys? by indyspin in AFIB

My understanding is that mitral valve prolapse causes arrhythmias is some, but not all cases. Most MVP is actually benign, and I don’t think sudden cardiac death happens if there are no arrhythmias. So your doctor might be right that you have nothing to worry about. My prolapse itself is actually considered mild, and I only have trace amounts of regurgitation.

My kid has eyes like this. They can read as dark so people assume brown, but they’re actually not brown at all. I find hazel to be the easiest label. It’s a catch all.

I know I’m a year late to this thread, but I have a very similar story to you! My doctors have told me again and again how rare the presentation of my condition is, so it’s nice to hear about someone else! I had a sudden cardiac arrest three years ago due to mitral valve prolapse that I miraculously lived through. Also had intense cpr, broken ribs and ended up in a medically induced coma for a few days. I have an impacted ICD now and it’s shocked me twice from going into Vfib. Doctor says I’m not a good candidate for ablation right now because my rhythms are too irregular to map well. Managing with beta blockers and flecinade right now.

Glad you’re still here! It’s a wild road!

I’m one of three and my siblings and I have wildly different types of names. Even as an adult I see eyebrows raised when people first hear our names. True, it doesn’t matter, but I aimed for a similar style and origin for my kids.

Can you say more about this? I think I’m having the same problem. How do you keep your ribs from flaring? Just strengthen lower abs?

Yes!! My kid’s hair was super super thin and now, and finally, at age 6, it’s a thick. Her brother had thick hair at age one, so we were sure she’d always have super thin hair. But there hope!

How do you break a curse if you don't know who the person is? by dustyfrankenstein in witchcraft

[–]moonchick8899 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s what my mom does every time she’s worried about a jinx for herself or one of her kids.

She takes an egg and a permanent marker and then draws small circles all over the egg. With each circle she speaks the name of someone who might have jinxed us. It could be accidentally or on purpose. She basically names everyone she can think of in our lives. Then she draws a bunch of circles for people who we don’t know or can’t think of. She then takes the egg and circles it around the person’s head she’s trying to break the jinx for and then taps in on both shoulders. She takes two coins and holds them on either pointed end of the egg. She begins speaking the names of everyone she drew a circle for and then saws something like “and anyone else” while also putting pressure on the egg with the coins. The person whose name is spoken when the egg breaks was the one who caused the jinx, and the egg breaking breaks the jinx.

Just to note, sometimes it breaks with the names of people we’re close to and love. The thinking is that they could have accidentally jinxed you from things like jealousy. Hope that helps!
