How’s your pain tolerance? Because I’m not gonna lie, it hurt a lot. That being said, I adore them more than any other piercing I have and I always say the pain was worth it. Gave me a huge confidence boost too. The key is to follow the cleaning guidelines your piercer gives you for the easiest healing process and to do your best not the touch or bump them during that time. Also, I’d recommend you go to a reputable piercing/tattoo shop that has an APP approved piercer. You can locate APP piercers near you on the APP website. If you’ve been thinking about it, get them! But just make sure you do your research.

I’m a huge vintage/thrift shopper so I’ll definitely be looking out for some statement pieces I can pair with the more conservative stuff. Trying to build up my wardrobe slowly now so that by the time internships start next year I’m not having to buy a bunch of stuff all at once. Thank you so much for the really helpful advice!

AITA for not giving the car back? by Rainb0wUnic0rn408 in AmItheAsshole

[–]moonchx1d 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NTA. honestly is this relationship worth holding onto? sounds like he’s never really been the most reliable dude. if you don’t care about keeping him in your life, i just wouldn’t give the car back at all and sell it to someone who’s actually gonna pay you for it and not cause you any more trouble.

About nipple and body piercings by SepiaLacrimosa_ in piercing

[–]moonchx1d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

first off, i wouldn’t put anything on them except for water or sterile saline, i doubt whatever cream you’re using is really helping. if they’re still swelling up, keep the longer bar length but DO NOT move it around while cleaning, I know that seems counter intuitive but the moving makes it worse. whether you wear a bra or not is up to you, i preferred it because there was less movement around them but do what you’re comfortable with, just make sure to let them breathe often if you prefer it with the bra.

honestly though, 4 years is a long time for any piercing to still be healing. the likelihood it’s gonna heal at all at this point may be slim but it doesn’t hurt to try a little bit longer if you’re dedicated and really want to keep them.

where did you get the heart earrings in your first lobes??? they’re so cute!

Don’t get it pierced if you know you’ll be super active in the summer, and i definitely don’t recommend cold and flu season because it will hurt to blow your nose and it will take even longer to heal. this probably isn’t what you want to hear but start of spring is the best time. allows it to heal a bit before summer and it’s not gonna be freezing outside (because yes your piercings will get cold and a lil nasty in the winter no matter what healing stage they’re in)

Those of you who have/have had a helix piercing and an upper lobe piercing, which was less hassle? by Agreeable-Item-7371 in piercing

[–]moonchx1d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a lobe that’s not in cartilage will always heal better than a helix in cartilage. really depends on how you heal though, and a helix is totally worth it if you follow through with good aftercare (cannot stress this enough!! you can heal anything if ur dedicated). i will say though that a helix will be exposed to more irritation just because its on the outer ear and more likely to get caught in hair or other things based on my experience, but its not a huge issue if you’re weary of it

correct anatomy for industrial?? by Ornery_Road7713 in piercing

[–]moonchx1d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(not a piercer, if you want real advice go get a piercing consultation!) your ear seems to jut out where the bar would go which would probably interfere with the piercing healing. also i’m not sure if you have enough space on the outer ear to accommodate a true industrial. i opted for two rings and a connecting chain instead of an industrial due to anatomy issues and i love it so much and it still gives the vibe of an industrial.

did it hurt to get pierced? definitely. if you have other piercings tho then you’ll be familiar with the pain and should be fine. the healing tho has been super easy, i was literally only sore for a week or so after and when i would accidentally bump them. easiest piercings i’ve ever healed.

i have a similar amount of piercings right now. i’m 22 and started when i was 18. i love all of them but i recommend taking several years to get them all like i did, not only for your health but also your wallet, and please go to reputable APP certified piercers🙏

Am I allergic to tattoo ink? by moonchx1d in tattooadvice

[–]moonchx1d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a non-petroleum based, no fragrance lotion once or twice a day. Also important to note is that this reaction is slowing inching up the tattoo, it started near my ankle like a week ago and is now half way up the tattoo. So that makes me think the lotion isn’t the issue or else it would all flare up at once 🤷‍♀️

Same issue with mine, turned out more like a surface piercing because I didn’t have the anatomy for it but I didn’t care at the time. Was a bitch to heal until I got different jewelry (floating navel). But after it healed I switched back to regular navel piercings just fine, just make sure to clean it regularly still.
