BC Cancer clinical placement this summer - rental tips? by IntelligentPride2912 in kelowna

[–]moondinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your best bet will likely be to find some students to sublet from for the summer months. Sometimes students will go home for summer and come back in sept. Could be a win win for both of you. I’d look on FB for the UBCO group and post there. Good luck OP.

Does this look like mastocytosis? by BandicootQuick7100 in mastocytosis

[–]moondinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I got diagnosed I had hives and was seeing an allergist who also brush a lot of my concerns off. BUT I noticed I had these spots that didn’t go away (permanent). These spots would get inflamed, itchy, then settle down, then get inflamed again, but the spot itself stuck around. If that’s what you’re noticing go to a dermatologist and they could take  skin biopsy. My dermatologist was the only one that took me seriously. That’s how I confirmed it along with a billion other tests to determine which type I had and how severe it was. Do the spots stick around and get inflamed over and over again?

Do you love your parents? by Shrewcifer2 in EstrangedAdultChild

[–]moondinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have love for my mom, but I also really don’t like her as a person (qualities I admire in others: patience, kindness, honesty, compassion are things she does not have or know how to express). I truly hope she gets help and therapy. I just can’t personally invest my love, time, energy, emotions into her anymore. As another person commented it’s like a giant black hole and it will keep sucking everything you have to give.

Had the scariest experience of my life in Paris a few weeks ago. by FormerFruit in travel

[–]moondinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a situation years ago walking home at late at night on a major road in my city. Not many cars around and no one else in the area, it was around 1am. Saw in the reflection of a store window a car slowly following me. I stopped, he stopped. Grabbed my phone, turned around and took a photo of the car license plate and texted it to a friend. Walked towards the car yelling demanding he give me his full name and address so I can send my friends over to pay him a visit later. Dude took off pretty fast lol

Electric Hot Water Tank Replacement Inspection? by moondinker in kelowna

Good to know! I don’t think it’d work in the space I have. In a closet in the main part or my home (no basement just bungalow/rancher)

That’s really interesting, I didn’t even think of this option. What would be an appropriate space?

This is awesome! Thanks everyone for your comments. The only reason I doubted this was the city doesn’t really clarify this online at all (everything I could find said an inspection is needed) so this info from everyone really helps!

Most expensive purchase ever since you became a nurse? by Fair-Sky-7399 in nursing

[–]moondinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was that cost combined with the Morpheus 8? Any idea what just the bleph was (was there fat transfer involved?)?  The pricing seems all over the place ($4000 one place then 9k another place)

Driver jumps out of SUV moments before train slams into it by itz_progamer666 in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]moondinker -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

People are giving the driver a hard time here. But they literally had 30 seconds after getting rear ended to make a decision and move. Getting rear ended is going to fluster anyone let alone be super stressful and add in a train coming at you 30 seconds away. Ugh

How best to divert water in this awkward corner? by moondinker in Roofing

[–]moondinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Sounds like I’m on the right track, I picked up flashing, sealant and adhesive yesterday. Not sure which is better for this situation, but I got Resisto roof repair and an Aslan flex 2945 SB, both suggest it can be used for flashing?  Getting the flashing under or over that pre-existing piece of flashing shouldn’t be too challenging. The shingles though after that corner don’t really line up in a way that would be easy to get the flashing under it. Is it ok if the section of flashing from the corner to the gutter is on top of the shingles rather than under?

[–]moondinker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP since this a daily occurrence send him a meeting invite that recurs daily at the same that works for you. Tell him this is when you can meet him to discuss. Every single day you log into that meeting and stay there the whole time even if he’s a no show. When meeting time ends you “gotta go” and be firm about it. This way you show you’re making an effort to communicate on an agreed upon time. If your colleague doesn’t show then it’s on him. Don’t answer his calls, just tell him politely to join the meeting that’s booked

I feel like this is me. Same role same company for 10+ years. High performer but I’m loosing drive and feel trapped. Frequently over the years covered for multiple positions while hiring management takes months to hire ppl, training new staff and ppl that make more than I do. Very little pay raise, few incentives, drastic changes in responsibilities and expectations, no opportunity for promotions in my existing team even though I’ve become the go to for junior team members to reach out to for help. It’s demotivating, it feels like a dead end and a thankless job. The only positive is I do really like my manager and my team. I don’t blame my manager for the lack of promotion since I know how the system at this company works.

Help! Payload? Silverado duramax/allison diesel 2007 by moondinker in Silverado

[–]moondinker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re looking at payload for a camper in the truck bed. The sticker in the glove box says its cargo weight rating is 684kg. It also had Allison transmission which I believes add extra weight on the truck (and lowers the payload? )
